Description ***FULL VIEW PLEASE!!!**

My friend and I got in an argument if Anakin is still hott when he's burnt to a crisp and if I would still love him, I said I would because he'd still be Hayden inside and still be a beast, so I tryed to make Darth Vader looking a little bit more human even though he's obviously mechanical and a monster now, I wonder what he's dreaming, of Padme? Of Palpatine? Of Obi-Wan? of a kitten? Partly though I thought it would just be funny to see Anakin sleeping all burnt up. >:] And I didn't want to do a cliche art piece like lots of SW art is getting these days.

He looks too feminine.

He should have a sort of crotch-plate with hookups for he catheter-bits. No way his sexual organs survived if his limbs didn't. Also he wasn't THAT burned. he was less like fresh patty meat and more like a half-crisped action figure what with his skin scorched by somewhat still in tact where it wasn't burned to a black char. He was more yellow-ish than red if I recall correctly and he only go more pale and gollum-like as time went on and his skin grew back without sunlight either within his compression-pod where he could breath without his mask or inside his suit where sun didn't even come in through the infrared camera-lenses in his helmet. All in all still nice art i guess! OH wait, also, why isn't his bed like SUPER stained pink from all the drippy anikin-juice coming off of this sloppy-joe-man wit no skin. He'd def have to change the sheets on a nightly basis.

Good pic! But...I'm afraid to say this picture could never actually happen. Anakin can't take his body suit off actually. The mask is his respirator and he wouldn't be able to breathe without it on.

It's amazing! And yes, it is possible for him to remove the suit, although he must be in a specific room to do so. He can also remove the respirator, because he has an implant.

I just thought he could only remove the top part of the mask. Hmm. learn something new everyday. I did know the "specific room" part though. I guess with mechanical stuff the rest of his suit could be removed though.

Yep. There are graphic novels that depict it in detail.

Yeah man, there's that special chamber in the original movies that opens up like a capsule, yeh? That's a pressurized room meant for him to breath in without the mask because the thing literally games sensory needles into his face and weighs hundreds of pounds with just the shoulder plates alone.

Definitely! If you're interested, I recommend reading Darth Vader and the Lost Command, which tells of the events that occur after Revenge of the Sith. You'll probably enjoy it

Wow...this is very emotive. A side to the dark Sith Lord we don't often see...though due to skin irritation from the burning, I doubt he'd sleep much.

snippetsensuality In reply to Aramendil [2017-04-03 08:05:34 +0000 UTC]

Canonically he barely sleeps AT ALL because of all the noise of his suit. A suit he can't really take off outside of his pressure-chamber, that black capsule in the old trilogy that opens up as he puts his helmet back on with a machine. The suit was designed to torment him by Sidius himself in order to bind him to the dark side with dark emotions and torture.

Geek Rant:

What are you folks trying to do here? No he is not vulnerable. He is pure evil. Hate and evil. Sure he used to be a sad misunderstood cute guy with nice hair but he became a child killer and pure evil. Why does everyone these days try to feel bad for evil? The Joker,Darth Vader etc They are scum, they gotta be punched right in their evil turkey neck.

rababco In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2015-10-04 02:30:34 +0000 UTC]

He's obviously not pure evil considering he gave his life for son, killed Sidious, became Anakin again and became one with the force. His own wife before she died still believed there was good in him and she was right. That was point of Star Wars, that he still had good in him and that his son was able to bring it out and save him from himself. That's what's so beautiful and tragic about the movies; Vader didn't deserve Luke's love and forgiveness but Luke loved him anyways. That's what I loved about Star Wars even as a child because so unique and tragic. You can argue that Darth Vader was pure evil but Anakin was good and inside of Vader there was still Anakin and that's good way of looking at it; after all, when he died and became one with the force he was no longer Vader but Anakin. If there's a part of Vader that's still Anakin, which is proven at the end of the series then maybe he is vulnerable; sure he's extremely powerful but maybe he still loves and misses his wife, is haunted by all the horrible things he's done and wants to spend time with his son and daughter, it's interesting to think about.

TheNeonSalmon In reply to rababco [2015-10-04 04:56:03 +0000 UTC]

No I disagree, Don't try to soften evil. That's like saying Hitler loved puppies.

Vader WAS pure evil. He turned back into Anakin and saved his son. Anakin WAS the chosen one,not Vader. Is he haunted by the horrible things he has done? That would only slow him down. He didn't even know he had a son until Palpatine told him. He had forgotten because of being driven by pursuit of power and hate.

I'd prefer if you did not lecture me when that wasn't the point I was making. I was trying to say that in terms of how his body looks; without the suit on, Vader looks like a sad, pathetic parody of the man he used to be. His previous appearance as Anakin Skywalker has been destroyed, and only his cybernetic implants, as well as his use of the Force, are keeping him alive, hence, he is vulnerable in physical terms.

My point: Despite the fact that he is an extremely powerful villain, Darth Vader, once the shell is taken off, appears to be nothing more than a weak, barely-living being. I did not anywhere say that he was "misunderstood." If anything, I was further condemning him.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheNeonSalmon In reply to nightchildmoonchild [2013-08-19 21:17:35 +0000 UTC]

Well I'm not lecturing. But for some reason it seems that usually young people and usually it's teen girls, they like to try and make evil seem sympathetic. Darth Vader is not vulnerable, this is a guy who can choke people from across a room.

Robot suit or not,he's pure evil and quite dangerous. If the Force gives him his power and he is quite strong in the force than he is stronger and more evil than any normal person. I'd say he is far from vulnerable.

nightchildmoonchild In reply to TheNeonSalmon [2013-08-19 22:06:08 +0000 UTC]

If you're insinuating that I am a teenager, you are sadly mistaken. If anything, Darth Vader isn't a sympathetic figure, and neither is the man he used to be, considering Anakin slaughtered a group of Tusken Raiders in order to avenge his mother. While the vengeance was justified, the act was still brutal.

When he's awake and fully aware. I was commenting on this picture, where he is fast asleep. Or, if it better sits well with you for me to say it, Vader gives off an appearance of vulnerability in this picture while he is sleeping, meanwhile he is not vulnerable at all.

TheNeonSalmon In reply to nightchildmoonchild [2013-08-20 02:34:02 +0000 UTC]

I never said you were a teenager but I said many people who try to humanize and sympathize with evil villains in pop culture tend to be teenagers.

I see. Well I think we can agree on that then. Yes perhaps he looks like a frail and pathetic victim in the picture. I agree. But as we both know looks can be deceiving.

I adore the picture.
But doesn't he need the helmet to breathe? I've never seen him without it (I've only seen the first of the original trilogy - I'm having my first Star Wars marathon in a little while), and I've been led to believe that the helmet is the reason he's alive. Am I wrong?

He can remove the entire suit, and the breathe mask, but he must be inside a specific room to do so.

He sure can breath without the helmet, at least for a little while and not doing something tiering. Love my grammar btw.

Probably true. i took creative liberties. At the time I drew it I felt like the universe would have had the technology to support him without the helmet. But it's just fantasy.
