I didn't marry anyone yet in Skyrim, 'cause it looked more lame than anything else to me: I mean, I don't feel like travelling around while having a wife all alone at home. I'm good enough having Erik as my Second-in-command and Lydia as my bodyguard and lover (sex mods FTW lol).
I'm also gathering various mods to have a personal army, build a town on my own and become the ultimate Warlord of Skyrim XD So yeah, too busy for lovestories

In the beginning, I didn't have "that" mod: so I just wandered around with Lydia and never joined the Companions until some real-life months. Then I found "that" mod and Lydia was the first thing that resembled a female in that moment. Also there's this talk that Aela was already Skjor's fuckbuddy, so I didn't think of her, and kept banging Lydia XD But now that Skjor is dead, mmmmm...
