Quick question, since you're the one who seems to still be playing Skyrim and visit the Nexus: do you know of any good mods that add travelling caravans or something like that to the game? I'm really thinking of going for a "brave" Bandit Chief role this time. You know, raid villages, assault caravans, murder guards, that sort of things. Maybe even smuggling if there was such a mod.

There's a bunch of carriage and ship mods but they might be just for the player.
I'm too frightened to reinstall anything at this point, I'm not even touching Oblivion with all the mods from 2011.

Yeah, those are mostly special-snowflake targeted. Which is fine, I'd love to sail the Sea of Ghosts with a ship AssCreed4 tyle, but real immersion in the game would need other elements.
Come to think of it, I'm actuall surprised that the Civil War questline doesn't even have radiant quests. I mean, you're supposed to be a soldier in whatever faction you joined, so guard duties and out-in-the-wild expeditions/patrols should be something natural: during the Civil War you're sent to take down enemy convoys or caravans, capture spies in towns, hunt down any guerrilla militia in the woods, maybe even some actual espionage and sabotage; after the war, you're sent to deal with some little sacks of Stormcloak/Imperial resistance, hunt down smugglers and other criminals and other "kill bandits" missions but in an official way this time and not as a common mercenary, with much lower rewards but more frequent missions.
But no, Beth was okay with just dismissing us at the end of the questline.
Lol, I'm just scared about how many of my Steam mods have become incompatible with each other now, so it's gonna be another one of those long, stressful reinstallations of the game. That's probably the worst of Skyrim, if you want to really enjoy the game you have to play it with mods and everytime you have to go through a lot of effort to add funny stuff that wasn't even present in the game. It's like you order a cheeseburger at a fastfood and they give you a half-eaten one, so you have to get all the ingredients to make another burger yourself.

"What? But we have enough men for the assault already!"
"No! There's a vacant place in our batallion and we won't be ready until our recruitment is complete!"
"So we're delaying our conquest of Whiterun because that Dragonborn fella hasn't joined yet!?"
"I'm not taking a city with just 49 troopers! We need all 50 of them!"

Come to think of it, this is likely how I behave on Mount&Blade:Warband most of the times, because I never go to a battle until all my recruits have been given the needed rank. It has to be an autistic way of thinking, I know, but if I don't have 30 Cavalry, 50-60 Infantry and 30 Archers (and possibly the top-tier kind with best armor and all), then I'm likely going to avoid a fight. Even if it's about one single soldier. I barely believe it myself that my Sultanate is still alive...
