Description Taken with a pinhole camera made out of a matchbox. The camera is extremely wide-angle, so my hands are all distorted and funktastically huge looking.

very good results, usually pin-holes can't capture movement at all. well done

Hahaha this looks awesome! Great for your first camera. I am still coming to terms with this concept.

Did you put in the film frame at all? and if not did the film bend at all in there... though that could be cool...
Or did you just cut the arse end out of the whole matchbox tray?

I have made a few new mods to a camera... will post the results when I get them back.

Awesome arms btw!!

Well, I sorta FORGOT to put the frame in, so no :-P. But I think it worked out for the better. The film didn't seem to bend (I think that the tension between the two spools was enough to hold it taught.

Can't wait to see the new mods!

HAHAHA you rock. I love mistakes that work out for the best. Its like chance inspiration. Your subconscious was "inspired" by having so much other stuff to be busy thinking about
I pretty much just widened the frame a bit. But I also have another plan for another camera... that will make the mind boggle!!

How I made the camera or how I took the shot?

haha... well, the directions for the camera can be found here : [link]

The only modification I made (actually, it was a mistake, but it turned out good), was that I didn't put in the film mask. That's why the image is printed across the sprocket holes of the film.

As far as taking the photo, I simply held the camera out in front of me, slid down the slide, and opened the "shutter" (made out of two pieces of cardstock) for about 1 second. I was surprised it turned out ^_^.

was it a sunny day?
cause i had to do some pinhole photography in the early part of my GCSE photography course, and it was a bitch. cause we could only make one print at a time, and we could never know the exposure time.
[ it was just a a box painted on the inside a dull black, with a hole and photographic paper as the negative... ]

Yeah, a lot of pinhole cameras use photo paper. This one, however, uses film, so you can take several exposures without running back to the darkroom. Also, becuase of the size of the hole (less that 0.2mm) and the focal length of the camera, exposure times are more like 1-2 seconds on a sunny day like that one.

Also, Mr.Pinhole ( [link] ) is a great resource for pinhole photography. You can input information about your pinhole camera (focal length, film size, etc.), and it will give you an optimum pinhole size, optimum exposure time, and a lot more.

CORRECTIONS (becuase I'm a grammar nerd):

"...becuase of the size of the hole (less that 0.2mm) and the focal length of the camera, exposure times are more like 1-2 seconds on a sunny day like that one."

SHOULD BE:

"...becuase of the size of the hole (less than 0.2mm) and the focal length of the camera, exposure times are more like 1-2 seconds on a sunny day. And yes, it was a sunny day that day..."

oh man, this looks so cool.

So it's actually on the film, or whatever? That's really neat.

Slides are fun.

And slides are funktastic.

As in, manually operate the shutter (whoo... almost typed "shitter")? With pinhole cameras, yeah, I do.

No. Expose was supposed to be the verb "develop". Because of my mistake, I'm going to go stomp squirrels to death.

And I will sing a funeral march.

Anyways, no, I don't develop my own film, yet. Although I should be starting soon. I have a room all planned out, I just need to get the supplies.
