To be honest, due to the more recent evidence on how T. rex was feathered, a majority of scale parts were found, on the belly, tail, neck, etc., leaving that T. rex likely had very few feathers, or no feathers at all. A featherless T. rex isn't inaccurate, nor is a feathered T. rex, feathers on a T. rex is clearly speculative.
So therefore, I choose the bottom one.

That's also the problem I encountered after seeing that paper. ;-;Β

But hey, he is a Deinorexus... tyrannus? (Forgot the species name of his scientific name for his species, but I didn't forget the genus name), which is a fictional dinosaur made by yourself, so it could be either fuzzy or scaly like that anyways, but the scaly version is more likely to me due to new evidence that proves that T. rex must have had less feathers than what people thought about how much feathered it was. If a T. rex did have feathers, it may not have been completely feathered, but thanks to the paper, it's gonna be alot less likely if it had feathers or not.

Not only that, I also wanted him to look different from an actual t-rex, D-titanis is supposed to be a tank compared to the original t-rex, wrecksy is only the gracile build and it's already the equivalent to a robust build rex,any ideas on some changes to the design? I'm currently tweaking it.

Alright, I got some ideas, maybe you can make his legs a little taller and bulkier, and you can also probably give him more of a croc-face, and that's pretty much it.
P.S. I am getting back into Pivot now.
