Description
Pencil in Sketchbook. This one was definitely a cut-back on the time it takes for me to complete a drawing. It took roughly two hours over the course of two weeks. It's an older drawing; some events in my life prevented me from uploading it earlier.I wanted to re-approach crosshatching --- I've never been great at it with pencil. As can be seen in these three examples, I have had some trouble defining texture using the technique.

I believe I might have finally been able to slay that beast, at least partially. It's odd that pen seems to make cross-hatching a bit more intuitive for me. I used the pencil to fill in regions as though they were shaded regularly. I was a lot more delicate and careful with this one, as well. I believe that might have been the key to my relatively greater success. The subject matter is a bear-ish skull. It's definitely not an accurate representation, though. What do you think?
