Description
And here's a slightly better looking image dump, and a new character! C8<This would be Jack Fenisk, a shapeshifter who works as the combat/tactics trainer for the SSTF (Spectrum Security Task Force). I'd say he's probably somewhere in his 40's, and his main shift-form is a foglizard - these large, dragon-like beasts are solitary creatures that inhabit rocky areas and forests in high altitudes, and are best known for the fog-like mist trailing from the tips of their tails. I've actually had this species roaming my head for several years now, but here's the first time I've posted anything to dA! The red chest stripes are NOT normal coloration; it's just something Fenisk does to mimic his uniform and distinguish himself as a 'friendly' when out in field situations.
Fenisk is seen as tough on his trainees; despite this he’s actually a fairly friendly guy, just not in the overly outgoing or boisterous kind of way- but he also doesn’t put up with much ‘sass’, and his first and foremost priority is making sure his rookies succeed. Quite level-headed, especially in a fight or serious situation; trained in a variety of fighting styles he is very tactical and observant, and gauges opponents carefully before jumping into the fray. He has a subtle sense of humor that can occasionally make it difficult to tell whether he’s joking or not, and he is absolutely the kind of guy who’d happily greet his trainees off-the-clock with a clap on the shoulder, remark how nice that lunch of theirs was looking, and then tell them with a grin that he’d have them running laps later to burn it off. Whether he actually means it is a mystery, but most trainees would rather not take the chance.
Jack Fenisk is actually incredibly invaluable to the SSTF. Not only is he very good at what he does (training aside, he’s also sometimes in the field to help out), but in addition to being able to train and spar using normal fighting techniques he can also give the trainees ‘real world experience’ dealing with some of the more dangerous non-human threats they might confront. As a shifter, he can actually train them in fighting scenarios against various beasts; not only that, but he can demonstrate the difference between ‘fighting just an animal’ and ‘fighting something that’s smart enough to strategize against you’ and /how/ to recognize which they’re dealing with.
Sometimes referred to as 'Foggy Fenisk' behind his back, which is not advisable as he doesn't care for it at all and will definitely make you run extra laps. C8

Thank you muchly Sirin! 8D Iii'm really quite fond of this guy, and have a ton of fun drawing foglizards to boot. <333
And haha, that's alright! Nope, that would be Secure Technologies, which is based out of a city called Amberline. C8 Spectrum Labs is a different entity entirely; they're located in a place called Central, and the company itself has many different facets that they focus on, mostly scientific development and research- the SSTF functions not just to protect company property/information/etc, but they also seem to have taken on a role somewhere between 'law enforcement' and 'animal control' in the city, handling situations involving the more feral denizens of the area. (So for example, if some shifter/other beasty-type thing decided to start rampaging about, they'd be the ones called to safely contain and retrieve them; they also handle retrieval/containment of lab subjects/beasties etc etc.) That's a really simplified explanation of what they do, anyway; they're a pretty big team so there's more to what they do than that, but I'm still ironing out some of the other details beyond that!

You are very welcome! C:
Ahh okay! So is Spectrum a more 'biological' facility? Do they also 'create' these shapeshifters, or are the shapeshifters already there and Spectrum is in change of containing them? Hahaha random questions, sorry xD;

Oh man this is a late response, sorry! XD;
And well, Spectrum is kind of an all-encompassing facility that handles a variety of research; biology, chemistry, you name it! They also have a greenhouse for botany-type things. C8 Shapeshifters are a naturally occurring species there, and since they're most definitely sentient trying to contain all of them would be very... illegal and unethical to put it mildly, so it's more like they're in charge/will assist with if one is causing major problems. There's also something going on with them and Jawz that I'm trying to understand/define better, since she definitely doesn't fit into that category! 8'D SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON THERE.
And I love random questions, always! C8 Please always feel free to ask them! <333

Oh wow! That's pretty helpful! Getting your resident Shapeshifters to help out instead of testing them and whatnot. Pretty cool! And yes, it's good that they realise that they can't keep sentient beings stuck in there xD; slkdjfksldjf Ahh! I can't wait to see more on that story and Jaws then!! SO EXCITED! And WOW! They must have all SORTS of creatures and droids and crazy plants and stuff there! Hahaha I wish there was some way I could go visit that place! I would geek out over everything xD;
Yay! Hahaha I love asking questions and learning about such cool stuff like this! Thank you! C:
