[FULL VIEW FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY PEOPLE]AHHHH. I'll have you all know I've been working on this for months, so it feels really good to be finally finished. *SO HAPPY with how it came out, wtf 8DDD* Okay, so... I sketched this back in June, got it finished and inked in August, and just finished coloring it yesterday. 8D AHHHH.
Kaerith has a very, very contagious grin when she's up to something. And boy, is she up to something. *kept finding herself griiiiinnniiing like that while she was drawing/inking/coloring this*
...and of course, she refused to tell me what was up until I finished this. XDI am so, so very proud of how this came out. I spent so much time on all the fur details and other things, you have no idea; but I think it was definitely all worth it in the end. Not only is it a freaking badass finished piece, but I got a lot of practice in with doing fur and just coloring in general. AHHHH. DETAILS. <333 And the original on this is HUGE, so there's a lot of details that you can't see since I shrunk it down. XD; I should upload some detail shots or something here.

Just... wow. The first thing that came to mind when I saw this full-view was "mosaic fur," almost to the point of scales, but I can still tell it's fur. I'm amazed how detailed it is. Tufts! TUFTS! Not just that, but upon closer inspection, I can tell there's even smaller strands of fur highlighted/shaded in it. Just... holy crap. XD; I can see why you're so proud, and would want to update a more detailed version.
And the tailflame! Pardon any possible offense, but it really reminds me of Ghost's lightning tutorial. Only more fiery, obviously. XD; The neon green and the whispy center makes it look like some sort of radioactive chemical flame.
I also totally love the hands/feet. You win an Internet for each digit. <3 I mean, I can tell where the joints are, the muscles attachments are plainly visible (MUSCULARRRRR) and.. yeah. Evny!
...I'm not sure if there's anything remotely resembling a comprehensible sentence in any of the above, BUT there is yet even more diarrhea of the mouth (or text, as is the case) to come!
Kaerith's face... very, very, VERY devious. Borderline-evil devious. I LOVE it! And the spikes, and jaw and teeth and eye and... yeah. XD;
Though there's one thing I must mention, though it's more related to your artist's comments... thing... than anything. That is, I never realized that Kaerith was female before, and I feel kind of stupid about that. It's possible that I DID in fact know, and forgot, in which case someone should boot me out of high school RIGHT NOW. I mean, it's not like all things like that should be blatantly obvious (I'm definately a person who likes ambiguity in animals /anthros /anything-non-human-because-only-humans-apes-and-bats-have-pectoral-breast kind of person) but.... I don't know. It feels like I should know better, especially given some the names of some of those guys and gals residing in my own head. So, sorry if I've inadvertantly offended you and you and Kaerith never knew it. ;o;

o___o holy shit Matt. That's batshit-crazy-good. I think that the white fur should be slightly smoother... maybe it being puffy at the chest but mostly smooth ya know? That's my only observation but really i think you did an amazing job on this <33

I've commented more in the past day than I have in the past month. XD
I think the fur looks awesome. It looks like scales and a stained glass window, but still fur, it gives a sleek look. The tailflame is also muy awesome, and the little bit of connective stuff between the upper and lower jaw at the back of the mouth just strikes me as particularly awesome. The hunched pose and shading give a nice dynamic feel to the image, and I love the conveyed feeling of insane mischief that the character conveys. If I can reach a bit out of my depth and attempt to point some things out, the anatomy of the neck looks a bit awkward, something about how the fur makes the shape swell and taper. The shading on the white bits of the fur doesn't click with the shading on the blue bits, although they both look excellent by themselves. I just noticed the lower of the two hands, the pad on that is AWESOME.
Really, having watched you put out various pictures as time goes along and seeing the changes in them, it makes me want to keep myself more active in drawing and experience a similar magnitude of improvement through practice. This is very well done.

The fur detail... I can see you spent a long time on it and it shows very good technical skill, but I think you should really lay off on making the fur tufts so discrete. Especially when it's all over the body like that; it looks like she's feathered or scaly instead of furred, or else like her fur is very matted all over. Very good detail work, but I don't know if you want that KIND of detail work on fur, you know? XD;
The coloring is REALLY GOOD though, very good and clean and consistent. I like the faint lighting from the flame - which, as we have mentioned, is TEH ROCK. Awesome detail on the paws, too. o.o

Lots of playing, actually. XD; I filled in the lines with a solid neon green on opacity at first. Then made a layer of fire-fwooshes underneath, again on opacity. Then another layer under that of white glow. I duplicated the first layer and gaussian blurred it so that it gave it this nice, greenish glowyhaze. Oh, yeah, and I made it so the lineart itself was under the flame, so you could kinda see it (through the opacity) but it wasn't overpowering the fire itself.
And if that doesn't make sense/if you want me to anyway, I can note you with a step-by-step sort of thing later. XD
