Description
As a parent, an empath, and someone that had to deal with a crappy parental figure, Todd holds disdain for toxic parents. I.E. the types that strip their child of their own individuality and try to control their kid's destiny, or the type that are overbearing to the point of not letting their kids have a shred of privacy, and so on.

Todd wants to see his patients, teen and adult alike, succeed and grow into good people despite their upbringing. It's not uncommon for abuse victims to become abusers themselves and continue the cycle of trauma. Todd was luckily able to break the cycle of toxicity brought on by his racist, unsupportive father (his older brother was also able to do this). And as a therapist, he wants to be able to set his patients on the right path.

And Ben's just being a supportive hubby.
