I'M SO FUCKING PISSED!!! I'M NOT EVEN TRANS BUT THIS IS UTTER BULLSHIT!!!!!
I don't want to hear anything about Trump being pro-LGBT ever again. Waving around a rainbow flag proves nothing; you cannot be "pro-LGBT" if you're gonna fuck over the "T" portion of that community. First it was repealing the trans bathroom law, now they can't openly serve in the military. Actions speak louder than words, as they say. Not to mention, he has anti-LGBT individuals in his cabinet.

Conner's not in the military, but he wants to join when he's older, after getting a full sex-change.

I may not agree with everything the military does, but I respect our troops regardless. As individual people do not define an entire group.

Funny to say, I don't pay much attention to the T-Model (an old insult for Trump before he became president), but I do notice some things that might make him unlikable.Β

While there are folks who are displeased with him (which I don't pay much attention ), this one really gets me to wonder....

Is this legit (as in for realsees) or is it just some brash half-baked idea that the big T didn't think through...?Β

WesleyLayden [2017-07-31 21:46:47 +0000 UTC]

Well, the main point I was trying to make was that gender dysphoriacs are more prone to depression and have a 40% suicide rate.

Which could invoke ramifications out on the field. Thus making trans troops dangerous to themselves and potentially to their fellow troops.

(That's what I was trying to get out for the past 20 or so minutes.)

Would you try telling that to a trans person that's serving?Β
What about this guy?Β www.facebook.com/harlie.brown.…
Would you tell him that he's "dangerous" to himself and his fellow troops? What about the many active-duty trans soldiers?

I do get that depression and suicidal tendencies are a cause for concern. However, not all trans people suffer from depression or suicidal thoughts (even though a large portion of them do), and banning them all because of that is not an excuse. And neither is the whole medical expenses bit a certain tweet mentioned.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WesleyLayden In reply to SparkMaster37 [2017-07-31 22:07:07 +0000 UTC]

I agree about the medical expenses. Seems largely pointless.

And about whether I'd tell a trans person in the face, "you have a serious condition." No. It'd be rude. But that doesn't make it any less true.

However, your point about how not all trans are going to be depressed is a good one.

I'm just playing devil's advocate.

ZevachnoStudio [2017-07-27 00:44:53 +0000 UTC]

The only thing that concerns and saddens me about trans people is that it makes me think they're not happy with the way they're created. I support it but it just makes me worry. That's my opinion anyway. But their happiness matters and the least we can do is support them.

Regarding my opinion it has NOTHING to do with supporting Trump's idea of rejecting them from joining the military. Not allowing trans to serve as troops? I disagree... and did he say he supported LGBT rights because I don't recall that at all. If people want to serve the military because it's their choice and NOT because they were FORCED to then they should do so and it doesn't necessarily mean they'll get sent to war.Β

First women weren't allowed to serve the military and now trans...? Unbelievable.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SparkMaster37 In reply to ZevachnoStudio [2017-07-27 05:06:45 +0000 UTC]

Not being happy with your assigned sex is something trans people experience, otherwise known as "gender dysphoria".Β
But yeah, support is needed, regardless.

EXACTLY!!!! I don't agree with drafting people; joining the military should be an individual choice.

Plus gay people couldn't serve openly in the military until a few years ago. "Don't ask, don't tell" was an utter bullshit rule.

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 1

ZevachnoStudio In reply to SparkMaster37 [2017-07-27 08:05:02 +0000 UTC]

And it worries me more with the outcome of their gender change and no one has come to accept them for who they are compared to who they once were. Either situation can lead to suicide. That's why it's so worrisome.

Yeah. Whoever messaged you should imagine meeting a trans, who wants to join the military because it's their choice and they're willing to serve their country despite their gender identity, and say those exact words of protest they said to you. For sure they'll become frustrated by their response. Those people who think they support LGBT rights are unwittingly disrespecting them because of their inability to jump to the right conclusions. If they're going to be the spokespeople for the trans they should at least do it right... empathetically if that's the right word for it. Like many have said, it's 2017.

Also I didn't know gay people used to be banned from the military... Then again it would've happened at first either way.

Sure if someone joins the military we can try to change their minds because in general it's a huge risk especially if they want to go to war. It's proof that you're concerned for their well-being... unless if they prefer other job opportunities that don't require going to war. If they still insist then the least we can do is accept and support.

But protesting that they can't join the military due their gender, race or sexual orientation is a completely different story. That's what's been going on these days and it's seriously infuriating.

Everyone should be treated equally... sadly it's easier said than done.
I hope I at least tried to make some sense out of this...

That tends to happen a lot with trans people when they come out. One of the best things to do is respect their identity, respect their pronouns, and have their backs. Unfortunately, trans people have a higher rate of suicide than other LGBT+ individuals. ):

I agree!! Or just any other trans person's perspective on the matter. Try calling another trans person a transphobe, idjits.
I agree with ya.

Unfortunately. ):
EXACTLY!!! And not all factions of the military involve going on the battlefield. Hell, my ex-military dad wasn't in combat.

It's discrimination no matter how you look at it.

We should all co-exist.

I don’t understand. You want them to serve in the military where they are at risk to be sent to war and die rather than leave peacefully with their choice? What is your problem? Do you want them to be sent overseas to die?

If they wish to join the military they should have every right to do so!! Not all military personnel are out on the battlefield, so not all of them get sent to war and die. If people are willing to put their life on the line for the sake of their country, that's their choice. Some people are willing to make that sacrifice. I don't think people should be banned from it because of their gender identity.Β

But you still want them to be sent far away from their families and from their SRS treatment to fight in the name of someone you dislike and demonize.

By comparison Trump is a saint because he isn't sending them to die. Congratulations, your blatant transphobia made me like him and that is quite an acomplishment given that I am Hispanic.
