and... photoshop isn't cheap.. there are a lot cheaper programs out there that you can rest easy for knowing you are not a WHORE for using.

Eeep! I know how you feel! Heheh, PS is okay for lineart and cel shading (Cause my lineart is super crooked if I don't use the pen tool ), but now that I've learned the basics of it and I want to start doing things with more depth, like painting, it's super hard. ^ ^;; Paintshop looks so awesome though, and I hear it's lots more fun than PS. Plus paintings look way better too! ^^ I wish I had more money to be able to get it with. ^ ^;;

everything done in photoshop looks the same.

and you can cel shade on ANy program that utilizes layers, people just get the idea that that's the ONLY PROGRAM THAT DOES IT.

paint shop is far less abstract than PS too. the interface is a lot friendlier for the brain-on-the-go.

I know that I've seen a pic someone did as a realistic painting/portrait thingy on Paintshop, and it looked so much smoother. In Photoshop it's difficult to blend colors well and make them smooth. >_< But I guess it's what I'm stuck with for now, although I've been meaning to get Paintshop for awhile. I can't until I do, I love digital painting! ^^

PS. You seem upset... Would you like me to send Lars over to cheer you up? I'll have him give you Photoshop lessons!

people should do some research on what a program can do instead of downloading the word they hear the most often that the big shot institutions all forcefeed their srtists.

that, and the fact that people don't even just say they colored/worked on something anymore. photoshop has become a verb for "doing art on the computer." i saw the word photoshop in twnety two of my twenty eight Devwatch notices today, used in such a context.

really, it's become a chip on my shoulder. i can admit that much. but the fact that no one else sees what's wrong with the big picture,

photoshop is runnin a fuckin monopoly on programs because it's all art schools use! no one can even name other programs besides MSPaint off the top of their heads! try it! the stats will topple your beliefs.
