I think that "perfect"ness you speak of is because photoshop kinda cleaned up the picture a little XD
If I was to show you the actual scanned product that wasn't tweaked by that loved brightness/contrast device, you'd see all the stray lines that are still somewhat there (in the wing) and the little booboos too.
Pen is evil. Plain and simple.
