BIO: Amp is an energetic ball of speed and electricity, capable of confusing enemies and manipulate technology at his fingertips. His positive attitude and bright personality make him a beloved hero within his city. Of course his actions did stir up some hate from criminals. Now if they could only catch him they might have a chance.

History: Born and raised in the city of Enchunda, Tod grew up under the wing of his father James Oliver, who was a head chef at a five star restaurant at the time. His mother Jade was a concept artist for Syne, a luxury vehicle manufacturer. Although he loved to cook, Tod discovered the haste and stress of working in a kitchen and began to have doubts of becoming a chef like his father. He didn't want a hobby he loved to become something he would eventually find repetitive and dread.

His father was not disappointed with his decision, as he encouraged Tod to explore and find new career choices of his choosing. However, he did not tolerate Tod to pick something easy. When he was 12, Tod soon discovered programming and computer software. And on his spare time after school, would fiddle around with the school network. This resulted in a prank which he programmed the fire sprinklers to go off at a certain period so he and his friends could go home early. And he was never caught. Though the prank was all fun and games, Tod grew more serious about his talent in programming and hacking and decided to use it for good.

As he grew older, Tod was the lead website designer for his school, as well as several other companies who opened a contest for their home pages. He won three awards, and even second place for one other company he participated in. With this knowledge at his disposal, Tod began to explore electronics and decoding, eventually designing concept robotics and machines for his science classes. Two of his designs were purchased by a major company in exchange for an all expenses paid tuition of any college he wished.

Amp: After graduating, Tod enrolled at the Enchunda Design and Imagination University. He and several other gifted students were hand picked to witness a new project being tested on Ember Lake. The project involved both EMP hardened suits, and a weather control matrix (WCM) the first of its kind. However, during the official testing, a massive thunderstorm was formed above the generator to produce power. The storm however became extremely violent, and the person conducting a close up inspection became stuck. Without hesitation Tod ran into the eye of the storm and helped free the scientist only to be struck by lighting several dozen times. The generator overheated and shut down, forcing the thunderstorm to fade away. Thanks to the suit, Tod survived, but barely.
He was rushed to the hospital and remained in a coma for two weeks.

After waking up, Tod felt fine. His severe burns healed quickly, and no physical or mental harm was found once he awoke. Baffled by this, doctors still kept him in bed for another week but found nothing else wrong with him. So he was released. While walking home from school, Tod began to notice whatever powered thing he touched, he could shut it off or turn it on. The first time was when he leaned against a street light and overloaded its power breaking it. The next thing happened to his laptop, forcing him to buy another. It would only take him a month before he finally figured out what was going on and how he could control it. He soon discovered that not only could he manipulate technology and devices by touch, but he could also travel at hyper speeds with electrical pulses zapping behind him.

With his new gifts a secret, he idoled Wildcat on the news, and decided to become a hero himself. Fasioning himself an EMP chargeable suit, he labled himself as Amp, and began to help out the city. At first it was basic heroics, getting people to safety from fires, hacking into a malfunctioned bridge to make it go down to free traffic, and even preventing suicide attempts. (206 within his first year as Amp to be exact.) He became a public icon and hero to Enchunda. It wouldn't be long before he got involved with criminals. Stopping police chases and bank robbers. Though of course, this would lead to bitter grudges.

Never the less, out of all of the heroes, Amp is by far the most positive and self motivated individual. He will be your friend if you let him, and he will stop at nothing to protect those in need. Even if it means his own life. Call it cliche if you will, but this fox is both electrified literally and metaforically for good.

Personality

"And how exactly can you prove your powers are not smokes and mirrors?" "I could pull up your browser history from home." "Um, moving on." -Amp and a News Reporter.

Happy go lucky and positive, Tod is a ball of energy. Literally and metaphorically. He loves to help others and will do what he can to make sure he achieves 100%. No pun intended. Though when in battle he can be silly and cocky, even carefree. However if lives are in danger, he is quick to stall his attitude and become more serious. Hes very friendly and can become pals with almost anyone. Well, almost. His favorite food is green bean casserole.

Powers and Abilities: Very intelligent and gifted hacker/programmer. Even without his powers he could easily decode software via a few minutes to a short hour. Hes also a quick thinker and learner. With his abilities comes a supercharged body of electricity. He produces it naturally, however if he needs to he can consume a power source to become stronger. Any form of tech or powered items he touches (Computers, engines, motors, ect) he can control with his mind. He can touch your laptop and memorize every file encoded onto it, and can even make it do things. (Send emails, download items, ect) He also has a continuous charged barrior around him. So being struck by a car wont kill him. However a high velocity bullet could. His secondary trait his his speed. At his normal state, he can acieve speeds of up to Mach 7 and stop in his tracks instantly. (Allowing him to "slow time" and run up buildings and over water.) However when absorbing a certain power source, the speed he can achieve is nearly impossible to calculate. However over time, the energy he absorbed will run out and he will be in his default state once more.

Trivia

1. When creating Amp, several names came to mind. Jolt, Thunder Fox, Booster, Zam.

2. I wanted to make a speedster with limitations. Amp is not even CLOSE to being as fast as the Flash in the DC comics, but his ability to control tech makes up for this.

3. Tod Oliver came from two Disney characters. Tod from The Fox and the Hound, and Oliver from Oliver and Company.

4. The idea for Amp came from Fox McCloud in the Super Smash Bros game. Fox being one of the fastest charactes, and having the deflector shield move.

5. Tod was one of the original heroes I came up with while developing Aris. The others being Reign (Deon), Wildcat, and Hexbreaker.

6. The colors for his suit were inspired by Corona cans I was stocking at work.
