Bio - Bulbasaur has a sizeable “reef” on its back that grows larger and complex as it matures. Whenever it rests in shallow waters, the reef on its back opens up as well as soaks in and gathers the nutrients that flow from the waters’ currents. However, unlike its Kanto counterpart, it doesn’t gather energy from doing this, instead, it re-energizes, or heals, the injuries that were placed in battle. The rich nutrients in Alola’s shallow shores caused a form change within Bulbasaur, making sunlight seem less beneficial to gather energy from. Due to its new adapting lifestyle, Bulbsaur’s skin color lightened, its eyes reddened and the bulb that was once on its back, withered into a plant that was more appropriate with its new life in water, a reef.

Holy shoot this was such a time consuming thing to do, but damn was it worth it! XD. Anyways, I've created so many different versions/typings of this Pokemon. It was extremely hard to choose the one that best suit its character and it makes so much sense for it to be a water type. I wanted to keep that nutrient absorbing nature it usually has, and what better way than placing a coral reef on its back. Plus, ever since Sun and Moon's introduction to Alolan Forms, I wanted to try an create my own versions and see with what I think they could look like if they existed in the games.

I'm so happy to be trying and experimenting with a new digital medium (pixel art) and I'm curious to know what you guys think of it so far. Don't be shy to give me some helpful criticism. Also, I'm debating whether to show off the other forms I made of it. Hmm...
