Description I've seen glass
shattered on the floor,
crushed until the
jagged edges
crumble into
a pathetic powder
scattering helplessly,
and, darling, that's what you do to me.

And I've watched bedrock
struck by a wave
again and again,
losing a bit of itself
with every blow
but begging for the
next fracturing visit,
and, honey, that's how I wait for you.

That arsenic you
pour into my drink
dissolves with hardly a fight
the silver crystals
disguised in the deep red
of the wine,
the bitter sting
fading in with the
blunt hit
of fermentation
now, baby, do you really think I don't see you poisoning me?

The glass may cave with grinding,
the sediment give way with the tide,
the poison blend with the cure,
but, sweetheart, I'm still alive.

My heart still beats.
Granted, it skips
at the sound of your voice
and the heat of your breath.

But I won't go unnoticed.
And I won't sit in shame.
When all you've lost is
everything,
I have everything
to gain.

Dearest Courtney, I love this here poem of yours. I am particularly fond of the third stanza, as it flows exceptionally well and sounds simply dazzling. Keep up the good work, kay? Kay.
