apexsociety.thecomicseries.com…Sorry again for that delay and all the other delays lately. I've been toiling away at another project that took way longer than I was expecting.
But the good news is I'm finished with it now, so things should go back to normal in terms of updates.

Ah, so THIS would be why Dracula pops up as a member of the Springfield Republican Party in THE SIMPSONS - I thought he was just drawn into Bad Company by his old chum Mister Burns! (he'd probably fit in fairly well with the Conservative Party too).
One must admit that I don't really conflate COUNT Dracula with the Wallachian Voivodes of that name, mostly because that allows for a greater degree of mystery in his back-story; it also allows us to conjure the thoroughly alarming mental image of Count Dracula as the ULTIMATE Vlad the Impaler fan-boy (and there is at least some support for that idea in the original novel - mention of both The Impaler AND "that Dracula of a later age").
Having said that this interpretation works too, not least because it allows us charming little anecdotes like this.

Well the reason why Dracula is usually Vlad III because it makes him less of a xenophobic caricature that Bram Stoker originally presented him as which is the closest we can get him as a actual person.

Strictly speaking, depicting Count Dracula as the afterlife of Vlad III Tepes is a relatively recent development (I believe it post-dates a rather influential commentary on the novel by Professor Florescu and Raymond T. McNally in the 1970s); I would also point out that while "Vlad the Impaler" appears to have been a distinctly brutal strongman even by the standards of his era it seems a little unfair to forever conflate him with a literally inhuman monster.
Please do not mistake me - depicting Count Dracula as an undying Vlad III is, in my opinion, an entirely valid slant on the Legend but is still one that I think has been overused; this attitude may, admittedly, stem from my disappointment on watching DRACULA UNTOLD and discovering that Mr Charles Dance had been cast as an Elder Vampire only to see my hopes that the film would turn out to be "Count Dracula Vs Vlad the Impaler Vs the Grand Turk" disappointed almost as soon as they were raised! (in all seriousness I do think it a great pity that Mr Dance has never been cast as Dracula himself - he'd be PERFECT for the role).

Makes me shiver in horror what Dracula is planning to do with Britain's poor mortal population once he takes over....Hoard them up in Slaughterhouses like Cattle so "No one can grow hungry in his land"?
Then again I wonder what's the poverty level in Britain circa 1972 for more Fringe Horror references?
Turns out Dracula was a monster long before he became a Vampire it seems.

This is actually a story that was widely circulated about Vlad the Impaler after his reign. I did some research, and there's no evidence the event actually happened, but I figure since I'm already bending reality quite a bit with the vampires and such that it doesn't really matter. But, yeah, the real life Vlad III was a total monster regardless of whether or not this specific thing happened.

I guess almost every single horrific thing Vlad Tepes did was actually true, like the Chalice in the middle of the village and such.
So it's not Vampirism itself that makes one evil but rather what type of person they were before they turned into a Vampire which in Dracula's case, he's a complete nightmare especially for someone coming to power in today's world which is why the whole plot of him taking over Britain should horrify everyone even Vampires no matter what he says about creating a "Vampire Utopian Society" since he may afterall may not have Vampire kind's best interest in mind at all but only his or possibly planning something much greater that he also happen to learn at the scholomence that goes far beyond a "Vampire Society"....like for example turning Earth into his personal Underworld Necropolis where people are cut off from moving on from the afterlife and they're forever bound here for all eternity or something since if he was excommunicated and "denied salvation to enter heaven" after serving and fought for the cross then no one will?
I do know one thing though that whatever Dracula here is planning, it can't be any worse than Castlevania Dracula (which I wonder if you saw the Netflix series by any chance?) where he simply wants outright extinction of humanity over the death of his wife which sounds counterproductive at best (especially I never liked the "Elisabetha" angle from Francis Cord Coppla's movie which is what Castlevania bases off from) and hopefully this Dracula has more sinister and occultish reasons for not only his vampirism but also his ultimate grand plan as well.
Besides Vlad the Impaler was only married twice, one was divorced which he did have a Son with his first wife, Mihnea cel Rău which I wonder if he will be appearing at all since I remember seeing this:

I guess Mihnea cel Rău could be a nice stand in for "Alucard" I guess? Not to mention since he was born mortal therefore not a Dhampyr but could be a full blooded Vampire like his father was although turned in a different way if not he also visited the Scholomence as well.
Also Vlad's Second Wife outlived him too and there was no "Elisabetha" at all.
