Description apexsociety.thecomicseries.com…

Hi, like I said, I was having really bad back problems last week and some business issues the week before. I'm mostly better now, so things should proceed as normal from now on.

My podcast has two new episodes since I last updated. First is the episode on Philip Wylie's Gladiator, a novel that more than likely inspired the creation of Superman (neversleepsnetwork.com/podcast… ).

We also have an episode on Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné, a very influential cult fantasy series from the 70s (neversleepsnetwork.com/podcast… ).

I'm rather astonished The Soviets would tolerate support for a raging Feudalist like Count Dracula, even from one of their own (with a potentially strong excuse that The Count is more interested in damaging the English-speaking world than Mother Russia).

My characterization of Liatoukine is as more of an opportunist than someone with an actual Communist ideology. In the original book, he and his vampirism are a metaphor for Russian military power. So I took that and extrapolated it to mean he represents all the shifting ideologies in Russia itself over the decades/centurie. I've been actually thinking of him being a stand-in for Putin in present-day stories.

The reason he's causing strife in the Kremlin is for precisely the reasons you stated, but it's tolerated for, as you said, it causing damage to Western countries.

Ah, thank you for clarifying that point - mind you, Comrade Vampire had better be careful if his operations take him to Stalingrad (since according to a relatively recent revival of FIENDS ON THE EASTERN FRONT "The Motherland Calls" is actually a golem the size of a titan - and one with a history of hammering Vampires!).

If that's the case then I guess this means that Liatoukine is now the President of Russia in present times? Well maybe a Vampire being the President of Russia today might sound better than what V5 presented with the whole Chechnya controversy.

So this is the Vampire that John Force is talking about who is now a Soviet General and the one responsible for allowing Dracula and his lieutenants to travel freely around the world which also explains how they got into Yugoslavia a known Soviet territory therefore Vampire City the first place? I guess he must be Dracula's Supreme general leading the Vampire Army perhaps?
