“isnt the tick/splodey creature was supposed to be an insect-like creature?”
Yes, I am aware there are giant insects like Arthropleura, a giant centipede from the Carboniferous period (look that up if you will), but even it only (probably) rears itself up in a defensive posture, as I don’t think I see any possibilities of insects standing perpetually tall as a human in real life. I could be wrong on this, but I dunno.
So, for this incarnation, I replaced the “giant creepy crawly” with a six-legged reptilian creature filling the niche of bears.

I’m probably gonna get some complaints after this, but hey, if it’s not your thing, it is not your thing. That’s all.
