The final task: Rite of the Hunt.
James knew this one had to be the best. Odyn and him had already gone out to hunt both bear and caribou, so now it had to be something different. Something bold. Their journey brought them to the snow covered forest which opened into the plains area surrounded by steep mountain ranges. He knew many types of prey animals lived in this area due to the secluded open places with the freedom to roam. On this particular night, several moose were spotted in the lowlands just beyond the overhang of the ridge.
The handler brought himself down from Odysseus's back, pulling off the reigns and taking any extra equipment away. He held him by the loose bridle, hands on either side of the beast's face. "Take down one of them," he explained, pointing out in the direction of the herd that was pushing out into the snow.
The command was enough to make the brute bellow out a reply before he dissapeared down the slope. Instincts kicked in for the once wild male, and from there, it was a waiting game.
