Sorry about the crappy shading and/or if this is too dark. I don't wanna fix it anymore.
There are maybe two or three people here who know who this is without reading my little comment, but for the rest of you lovely people this is Cedar. He's my first ever roleplay character and currently one of two I have who is still alive and (somewhat) well.
I have a bad habit of killing off my characters...
I've been doodling him a lot in my sketchbooks lately, so I took one of my favorite scribbles and colored it.
Anyway, Cedar is more than a little bit of a weenie. He's a coward, he's kind of whiny, he's thin as a twig, he screws up most everything he tries,
He's also not quite right in the head as he's got a nasty alter-ego who enjoys killing stuff...Okay, I'll stop now.Photoshop Elements 3.0

I can totally relate- er, I mean I find it interesting that he's 'not quite right in the head'. He looks like he needs a hug with those sad eyes, but I'd be a little wary of being torn to shreds.
You always have nice poses and anatomy, and this is no exception. Even though he's skinny, you can clearly see the musculature. And I live the dark tones in this. Having a dark background works.

There'd be no reason to fear hugging Cedar, only his other personality. And I really try to keep a certain sense of anatomical correctness (even when I skew things a bit to make things fit the way I want them to) so that way bones aren't missing or out of place and muscles aren't bulging out where they should never be.

I love Cedar too much to kill him off...all the other ones I've made (with the exception of Ficus) were alive for the sole purpose of being killed off. Ficus just began to annoy me, so I had that one little freak shoot her.

Actually he's not from a game. He's from a roleplaying guild (which unfortunately has gone the way of the dodo bird...) on another site.

How do you ink on Photoshop? I have CS 3, but I think it's basically the same thing as Elements.

Let's see...for inking I load a scan of a sketch (I can't sketch worth a darn on the computer) onto Photoshop. Then I add a new layer and go over my lines--color works best here in case you want to color or shade your lines later; you can always alter color while black doesn't really go very far.
If I don't like my lines I go back with a hard eraser and alter 'em (like if my lines aren't as smooth as I want). Then, if I really want to, I go back and taper lines, make certain areas thicker, etc. though I'm usually way too lazy to do that.
If you add color then you can saturate, de-saturate, lighten, darken, whatever you lines to make them match your color choice. Also, I always zoom in to at least 200% when working on lines. They tend to look much smoother that way. Um, I guess that's it. Hope that helps you out. ^^
