There should be more domestic cat anthros out there.I doodled this in history class about two weeks ago and decided to color it due to lack of interest in school (the sudden weather changes of late spring/early summer in Colorado is making my brain explode). I like how it turned out though the scan might be a tad over-saturated. Ah well, you can't have everything.

it looks a bit human....something in the way its angular body is broadcasted....it makes you think the cat's part human....

All I have to say is OMGIT'SARAGDOLL!!! I love ragdolls! I have two. And they would kind of look like this one if you combined them into one cat. ^-^

I love ragdolls too. My first cat was a ragdoll, and if I can ever get my hands on another I would snatch them up so fast.

though artisticly there is nearly something to really like here more than anything the first word that comes to mind is "creepy"

if you for even a moment you can pretend that anthropomorphic rendering is completely normal in no way unusually then I would think its possible that you might not have the ability to carry a conversation.
Further more the look both in meaning and in ability to render emotions is so very accurate that seeing those expressions so accurately rendered on something that doesn't have the ability to express those types of emotions can strike you in a way that throws you off guard.

I don't necessarily find anthropomorphic rendering "normal" per se, but I do enjoy adding human qualities to animals in some of my art. Many people draw anthros, and I happen to be one of them. If you don't like it, why look at it? There are plenty of other wonderful subjects that people use in their art, literature and photography.
As for giving emotion to my animals and anthros, what's wrong with it? Animals in cartoons, logos, fine art, etc. have emotion added in for effect. I don't find anything terribly unusual in an animal showing some sort of emotion in art. I'm sorry that my smiling cat anthro bothers you, but if that's what I chose to draw it's my decision.
