Description
Would you like some Ti with that Ni?This is a present for my bess fwend Matt. Today was his Adoption Day (AKA, second birthday) We're not elitist. No, not at ALL.
When together we usually just sit around and babble endlessly about all of our coworkers', friends', and family members' presumed Myers-Briggs personality types, trying to theorize which cognitive functions each one has and try to figure out what they might be. We find this psychoanalyzation..."fun." It is especially "fun" when we figure out which function attributes to each of our or our friend's stupid actions or decisions. We then establish that our function set dominates all, which accounts for the fact that INFJ's are only 1% of the population. They either screw the world over (Hitler, Osama bin Laden) or help humanity immensely (Jesus, Mother Theresa).
We then laugh, fully knowing how screwed up we ourselves are, and then the voices in Matt's head start talking to the voices in my head, which usually ends up with Mauz or Pogo overriding my own brain, then Matt's head-voice Malachi threatening mine with death at the derpish behavior, at which Alfa, Kat, and Acer respond with violent threats, while Josh Fox yells that hugs are the answer, and then it all goes downhill from there....
Anyways, if you've interacted with me on dA a bit I've probably analyzed and attempted to type you, unconsciously. As you may have guessed, this may be dubbed "creepy," so now is your chance to run far, far away while you can. It is also "creepy" how seriously I take MBTI, so please do not tell me your personality type you got on a random internet quiz, or I will be prompted to argue with you - not because I think you don't know yourself, no, but because I assume you don't understand MBTI well (totally not an elitist assumption), and because internet quizzes totally suck at pinpointing exact types. (They're good for a ballpark estimate at best, as most of them test for the letters of the acronym rather than the function sets.) So please do not tell me, ESPECIALLY if you got "INFJ," unless you have actually studied MBTI, or I will be forced to interrogate you, because I will not believe you otherwise. (You should not care what I believe anyways.)
The joke in the image comes from the fact that people around us like to take "what's your MBTI type" quizzes on the internet and they all seem to get INFJ, which in reality is the rarest type and it is highly unlikely that such concrete people actually possess this abstract-beyond-freaking-belief type. Of course, they love hearing that they are "rare and unique," when of course in all reality, being an INFJ often FRIKKIN' SUX. Matt came up with the INFJ catchphrase himself x'D
Just so you know I am not an actual egotistical freak who believes themselves to be the pinnacle of existence, I'll have you know I am well aware of my own weaknesses, many of which are documented here: (warning: hilarious and very insulting, unless you're an ENTP, the most perfect creature in the universe) zombiesintelligently.com/non-f…

Are you fan(s) of the Girl inventor and Foglios? It may only be the steampunk outfits but something about the way you draw yourself and your friend reminds me of Foglios and their style.
INFJs are badgers. ROFL, after a line of unicorns it's hilariously refreshing to be compared to a badger.

When I found out I was one, I wasn't happy because of how unique it was, I was happy because it meant I wasn't as alone as I thought I was growing up. It was something I never understood, why am I so weird, why is it I'm so different and why can't I be like everyone else. After taking the test (it was one done to determine why I was having an issue with school or something back in the early 00's), it was a relief to finally find out that it was more to me then just being weird, that it wasn't a bad thing to be who I was, and it was the best thing I found out. Every so often, I retake the test (psych major now in college) and each time it's the same. But honestly, I don't care if I was an infj or another one, just to know why my brain thinks the way it does and is explained is a relief.

I understand completely! My family consists of 3 ESFP's, an ENFP, and an ENTP and I always wondered why I was the black sheep x'''D
Glad MBTI has helped you with understanding yourself- I know what you mean when it makes you kind of sad to feel so different from everybody else :/ It's hard to find people who understand you and won't take advantage of your Fe... x'P
Though it's one thing to take the test, it's another to study and understand each function to determine if you type people properly (unfortunately I think MBTI is actually not considered legitimate in professional psychology settings )! But I still think it's a really useful tool in figuring out people. It's helps me predict (Predict! An Ni's fave word!) people's actions and me avoid stressful situations.

I'm an INFJ.
I took a test that gave me variations:
INFJ personality / Turbulent varient / Diplomat role.

Lol that's funny- Matt and I speculated that you were either an ISFJ or an INFJ x'3
NOW I MUST INTERROGATE YOU!! WHICH TEST! INTERNET OR OTHER? DID YOU TAKE IT AFTER A STRESSFUL TIME? HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU TAKE IT AND HOW FAR APART AND AND AND
Sorry x'D

Um. I took it once before a few years ago at OC. Both times on the Internet. Two different sites. I don't think I was under too much stress either time?

I like how you draw yourself and your friend. C: You both look really nice!
Oh, being honest I didn't know about that INFJ personality type. xD I'm not used to take those internet quizzes, but I must say that all that stuff about personalities sounds really interesting to know about. :0 I don't really know what personality type I am, I'm kind of stuck with the idea that I'm a shy person, and that's all. x'D Not sure if that's an actual personality though.
By the way, I don't think is creepy trying to figure out people's personality , I do it sometimes too, maybe not as analytically as you x'D, but I do my effort.

Hehe thanks! (Sometimes we dress like that when we go to Walmart at midnight, just to be weird ;3 )
Hehe I think you might be an ISFJ. (The shyness you describe probably just means you're introverted, which is what the "I" in the acronym stands for). I can see that you value memories with your friend (function = Si, the top function of ISFJ's) as they are very important to you. Also you seem to be caring of others as well. You might try reading this, and see if you think it describes you! (Just for fun ) www.personalitypage.com/ISFJ.h…

You're welcome!
I know you said we shouldn't tell you the personality we got at an internet quiz, but I got so curious that I wanted to learn about the INFJ personality and I ended up with a free quiz from this page: www.16personalities.com . According to that test, I'm INFJ too xD, but I really doubt about it. I mean, I feel related with what it says, but I won't be completely sure or trustful about a result except if it is made by an expert. Anyways, now that you've mentioned that ISFJ personality type, I feel related to that one too. xD Maybe is a kind of mixture or something lol.

Well I DID say internet quizzes can be an ok ballpark estimate ;3
INFJ's and ISFJ's do share two functions - Fe and Ti, which are in the same position, it's just their first and last functions are different. INFJ's are extremely abstract and usually eccentric, while ISFJ's are pretty concrete, not to mention traditional. :3

If online tests are so unreliable, is there any way to take the real test (without payment, preferably)?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Spectrumelf In reply to calculusmaster [2015-02-04 23:12:48 +0000 UTC]
IDK what the "real" test would be - preferably you get someone who has studied MBTI, knows all the types and functions, and have them observe you, though it'd have to be in a situation where you are most like your normal self.

I know I had taken a few different versions of the test, just to be sure, and I got ENFP on all of them. Would you agree with that, from what you've seen? Also, is it possible for someone's function sets to change?

Spectrumelf In reply to Acrinn45 [2015-02-04 05:58:32 +0000 UTC]
I think it's pretty safe to say that if you got the same thing on all of them you may indeed by an ENFP. Of course, I would be forced to ask how far apart you took these quizzes, whether they tested for the letters of the acronym or the actual functions, if you had just been at work or school or some otherwise structured environment (during which you'd be forced through a J-style environment, and therefore more likely to get "J" or J-type functions higher up in the function order), etc.
From what I've creepily analyzed from your comments and OrioKat writings, I'd say ENFP is a very safe bet. Your top two functions would be Ne (extroverted intuition) and Fi (introverted feeling).
I can summarize Ne as the idea-generator function, giving you quick responses to comments or remarks and many ideas for fiction- also a broad range of interests, as opposed to one very very deep interest. (You might say that writing counts as a very very deep interest for you, but I am mostly referring to the range of things you write about OR simply the form you write in.)
I can summarize Fi as the knowing your own feelings function. This allows you to communicate your own feelings and it pours through your writing, which others can enjoy greatly (such as myself). Writers with Fi are usually good at including details which they themselves have felt, and since it's highly likely that other humans have felt the same thing, people are likely to relate to your works.
People with NF in the middle like you and me tend to be more inclined toward humanities such as art or writing, and specifically communicating emotions. So yeah, I think ENFP sounds right x'D
I believe that after the average human has developed their function during childhood, the functions really don't change. Sometimes, however, a human might undergo a traumatic event that makes them use a certain function way more or way less, which may appear like a different function on the surface.

That does make sense...it sounds a lot like how I perceive myself, and it is definitely true that I pour myself into my writing. And while writing could be viewed as one immensely deep interest, I also think of it as more of a folder that holds a bunch of other interests (for a good example, look at my Google Drive xD)
Thanks, Spec! This answered q few questions I had about that!

Well, I have a limit of characters I can use...which makes it hard I think I have it down, but writing it is so...awkward. Giant organic robots randomly thrown into the world of Smash Bros., and being on a much larger scale than the others, and dealing with things they'd constantly be questioning...I'm not even sure I can fake understanding Smash Bros. well enough to give fake answers xD
