It's helpful. I hadn't thought of using the radial gradients like that, although I was picking up on the idea of erasing part of the shadows to make them softer/ blend better.

Yay! I used to use radial gradients ALL of the time, but now I usually just use a soft brush. The blur tool also works some for softening shadows, but often it's too subtle to pick up.
