Description
Everyone look, I painted myself a new desktop background.I had the idea of the rising sun seen through a loop-de-loop for a while. Don't know where it came from, to be honest. I just had the picture in my head and it looked nice. I'm quite happy with what became of it, too. I enjoy painting skies and light-y stuff.
Actually, I'm really fond of what became of Sonic, too. I wanted to try a more dynamic pose, and I think it turned out well.
Now I wish I could do a Sonic and go on a morning run. Maybe I will tomorrow.
Painted in GIMP

If there never was a green zone like this with a sunset background, there should have been. Then again, I just love sunsets.

There was Sunset Hill Zone in Sonic Advance 3, but you're right, there should be more sunsets.
Thank you for commenting, glad you like the picture!

I've never played any Sonic game newer than Sonic Adventure, so I haven't seen that firsthand.

I wish I could see a nice image in my head and then draw it in a way that it still looked nice.
It does look impressive, the sky especially. Much better than Sonic, in fact, but he's nice to look at, too~
Do you use Linux?

It doesn't always work, to be fair, but it's really awesome if it does.
Thanks. Actually, I guess I think the sky's more impressive than Sonic, too. Funnily, Sonic took a lot more time.
No, good old Windows XP. I kinda love it and have vouched not to abondon it until it finally dies. I use the Windows version of GIMP 2.6.

I love the background! How did you draw the grass?

Thank you! The grass was drawn the way I drew all my other grass: with a small brush, the smudge tool, and a lot of patience. Actually, out of laziness, I made a patch of grass and then used the clone brush to replicated it. It looks all the same anyway.

Wow, the background is just plain awesome here, I also love how you colored Sonic. Don't know why, I guess because it looks cool xD

Thank you! 'Because it looks cool' sounds like fair reasoning to me.

That's amazing! Nice job! Your lighting worked out really well.
If anything though the loop looks kind of sideways.
That is a good, solid dynamic pose.

Actually, it's supposed to be a little sideways...
