Math CAN save the turtle!
Watche me doing it:
1. the turtle is just a drawing
2. thus, the turtle is no living being => does not possess life
3. thus, the turtle is in no danger of losing it's life
4. if there is no danger for losing life, there is no need for saving
=> the turtle is already saved.
Q.E-motherfucking-D.

Was that algebra? Yeah, that stuff's not math, it's black magic.

Sure was math. magic has nothing to do with it.

It might save the turtle. You could calculate the speed of the weight, the distance between the plus/minus sign and the turtle, and compare the masses. Maybe. I just made that up. But that would take too long anyways.

o rly?

also, MUSIC IS MORE USELESS THAN MATH. how can music save the turtle? it can't. It can't do anything at all.
math is analagous to music and art. except it is more useful.

You is very wrong, math is very useful, if no math there is no internet, tv, computer, games, dA, books, even we cant do any thing! (even there is no money with math)

But will math save the turtle?

mezluvzhorsez [2011-04-10 23:33:07 +0000 UTC]
yes you can, in the picture you can subtract 99 lbs. from the weight 100 lbs. therefore if it lands on the turtle it will not kill it...

I thought there weren't any everyday applications, but I now use algebra to figure out certain marks I need for a certain mark or GPA. Beyond elementary algebra like x+4=10. More like (x+80)/60 = 180 then proceed to subtract it from another number and such. Slightly more work. Nevertheless is math.
If you're trying to construct something, you can use the pythagorean theorem for triangles, or use calculus to maximize or minimize products or costs, etc.
That aside, cool drawing, though. lol.

Then what can? No one can lift a brick that heavy, unless you use some sort of machine to lift it with. And what coursed machines to be invented in the first place? The answer, is math. So if anything could possibly save that turtle, it would probably be needing a hand from math.
Ah, sorry for the bitching here. I tend to overreact very easily.

I didn't say math can't, I said math will not. Math just chooses to point and laugh while the turtle is squashed. math usually likes to do other stuff instead of helping people, like boring them instead.

Haha, whenever I ask my math teacher for real life examples she gets angry, then stutters for five minutes, then says she can but won't, then 'sees to me after class.'

My teacher's excuse is that she's preparing us for jobs that don't exist yet. But she did vaguely admit that proofs are useless out of math class!
