Description
Yay, What a great meme!1. Number one influence- Sheilah Beckett, favourite illustrator of all time. I have gotten to talk to her a few times, and you can definitely see her influence in my work
2. Hilary Knight- Most famous for his illustrations of the book series 'Eloise' I love his books Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Gorgeous work
3. Shag- great colour schemes and simplified shapes. Awesome tiki style
4. JC Leyendecker- Not as obvious an influence, but his work had had a great impact on my style sensibility
5. Alphonse Mucha- Art nouveau is evident in some of my work, he's the master
6. Kay Neilsen- Love the small details and intricate nouveau settings
7. Kirsten Ulve- Pretty obvious influence with my more cartoony style, love the way she composes figures
8. Marguerite Sauvage- Gorgeous female forms and excellent line work. Met her in France
9. The backgrounds in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Splendid 60's look
10. Marcos Chin- Beautiful line work and color use. I wish I had 1/4 of his talent
11. Mary Blair- awesome character design and great gouache work
12. Egon Scheile- Great tortured figures and lines
There are a lot more who influence my work, many on deviantart.

I think I've seen a few of these artists w/o knowing their names, thank you for posting this!!! I can tell how they influenced you, but also how you made their styles your own!

Wow Marcos Chin! He was my Fashion Illustration AND Business of Illustration professor in college! He is a great artist, and a really good teacher and an all-around nice guy. I recognized his work immediately!
