Description Problem is I made all the layers before I realized I should make them different sizes depending on importance. Then I couldn't quite choose and didn't want to start over, so this is the way it is.

BTW here's the template if you want it [link]

From left to right

1. Pre-Raphaelite artists
My dad got a Pre-Raphaelite calender for teaching his medieval literature calss when I was in High School and I've been obsessed every since. I got to hold one of Burne-Jone's sketchbooks once. It was awesome

2. Nene Thomas watercolor art
I saw her art at the first convention I went to in college. That was when I realized that watercolor was OK and you didn't have to paint loose watery landscapes and flower scenes to use it.

3. CLAMP
I originaly thought they used watercolor for illustrations, so that was the 2nd thing that made me start using it.

4. Alphonse Mucha
5. William Morris designs
6. Gothic architecture
7. Art Nouveau architecture
8. Florence Harrison
9. Arthur Rackham
10. Sulamith Wulfing.
11. Flemish painting - Rogier Van Der Weyden
12. Warwick Goble
13. Japanese Ukiyo prints
14. Chinese Watercolor paintings
15. Nao Tujiki
16-17 Historical costumes, modern dance costumes and fashion

!!! OMG I didn't know anyone else even knew who Sulamith Wulfing was. ;w; My grandma randomly had a set of her prints, I had no idea who she was, I just instantly loved it and wished I could have art like that... and later did a little research and was disappointed that she wasn't like, super famous. But anyway... I love your art so much, it's really neat to know that we are influenced by some of the same artists!

I found a reprint of her little mermaid book about 10 years ago, but it's hard to find a lot of other images.

When I first saw some of your works I imagined you might also be a little inspired by some of Charles Vess' works. But now I see I only made that assumption due to some common influences. And fine inspirations they are.

That's funny. I'd had a few people mention him over the years, but I'd never heard of him before that. It seems we were just influenced by the same people already. But now I have a nice print of his on the wall.

He's kind of an asian influenced Arthur Rackham. Whereas Dulac is more middle eastern influenced.

I also like Hiroshige better. And Kawase Hasui even more for the atmosphere.
