9 hours of total work, 9x12 inches on regular art paper, regular wax-based and watercolor-based pencils, blended with white pencil afterwards with another hour of work. All for this brief moment of gorgeous avian pause. Even better, this is a bird native to my own backyard; I see them every summer at the feeders.
