I'm just browsing very much through galleries on here ^.-

Btw, I just had a peek in your gallery -I think your work would look even better with some backgrounds^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bensta690 In reply to Lodchen [2012-08-25 10:12:34 +0000 UTC]

Ohh thankyou. Yeah I concentrate most on the characters themselves- but I have started adding backgrounds to them just recently. Thanks for the feedback

.. your work is pretty amazing yourself! do you make art for a living?

Lodchen In reply to bensta690 [2012-08-25 11:23:59 +0000 UTC]

Oh that's great And no problem ^.-

Strewth! No I'm still going to school, art was always just a hobby and will (most likely) always be^^ I wouldn't want to draw under pressure, it'll just kill the fun^^

bensta690 In reply to Lodchen [2012-08-26 01:33:20 +0000 UTC]

haha nice i like that attitude. I guess I've always had a different mindset in that it'd be fun getting paid for drawing lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lodchen In reply to bensta690 [2012-08-26 07:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Hehe When I want to be paid for drawing I would just do a few commissions and then go back to the thing I want to do
Also there are so many other things that I would love to do after school, there is just no space for doing art as job (even without art as possibility it's hard enough to decide )

bensta690 In reply to Lodchen [2012-08-26 09:43:38 +0000 UTC]

lol well it opens up. I did a media arts degree at uni, which deals with digital art and stuff- HEAPS of jobs. but don't let that sway you.
What do you wanna do for work after school?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lodchen In reply to bensta690 [2012-08-26 10:03:04 +0000 UTC]

Nice Studying art at the uni must be nice (though I hated art lessons in school, my teachers were horrible and I learned nothing there xD Everything I am able to draw now I learned from books and own studys. I wonder why they even teach arts in school when you learn nothing there?)
I don't know for sure. I want to become psychologist maybe, or maybe social education worker. There was also a time I wanted to go to police and I still like the idea, but I think psychologist or a social worker would fit better to me

bensta690 In reply to Lodchen [2012-08-26 11:00:24 +0000 UTC]

awesome, yeah I had a friend keen on the police too, seems pretty good.
Yeah they had all the theory in uni aswell, pretty crap, but the prac was awesome

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lodchen In reply to bensta690 [2012-08-26 12:23:26 +0000 UTC]

Hehe Yeah, it would be so nice to go to the police, but I'm far from being the tough girl, so I suppose I should stick to the social/psychology-things .
At least the practice was awesome . Practice on my old school was pretty crappy, too.

Do you know if there's a way to do this in Corel Painter? One thing that I think is hindering me a little in my coloring is the fact I can't get the lines by themselves on the layer. Even if I do "preserve transparency" the program doesn't seem to distinguish the lines from the rest of the layer and I can't readily change the line colors without making a mess.

SSJMihoshi [2010-07-19 17:54:38 +0000 UTC]

Ok, my first thought upon learning you don't use multiply, and seeing the lineart up close was, "That looks horrible!" But seeing the finished product...it actually looks really damn good. Thanks for changing my opinion. I'll probably use this method in the future.

I don't usually use the pen tool coz I'm too damn lazy. lolz. If you want to get the job done right away, use the lasso.

Joflor In reply to spidey0318 [2008-08-05 06:08:32 +0000 UTC]

it's ok
no, I've never loaded a tutorial myself, but when submitting a deviation you can choose the size when it is fully downloaded so I guess that would be a size smaller... anyhow others might prefer it the size it is now..

Joflor In reply to Joflor [2008-08-05 05:40:31 +0000 UTC]

ok, I've seen a way now to make it bigger, but it's either quite small or very big.
