Description
Made because I was thinking about my previous stamp, [link] (which also has to do with menstruation and makes me seem really fixated.)Perhaps a flipside to it?
I truly hate the fact that a great number of my fellow men seem to think that whenever a biological female is having emotional trouble, it's "just PMS", or deriding their problems as invalid just because they're PMSing.
I'd love to see you deal with it, buddy.

I'm a guy, and even I think blaming everything on PMS is stupid, because sometimes guys just say it as an excuse to not listen to what a girl has to say.

PMS = Premenstrual Syndrome. Usually comes with a lovely list of bloating, tenderness, headaches, food cravings, mood swings (easily angered, easily saddened), fatigue/sleep problems etc, etc.
Just something that some women get during/before their menstrual cycle.

I know what you mean. Even other girls do it to me but usually they are correct or are sensing I'm having a bad day and blame it on pms. It makes me think little of our gender because of it. Us girls get mixed messages and still a lot of gender discrimination. It made me hate myself for being a woman thinking of myself as weak and emotional. I once blamed my mum for being on her period when she wasn't. That's how bad stereotyping and discrimination is. I became what I hate.

There's a big "trend" for that, eh?
I've also heard shit like: "Calm down your uterus" or something, when a biological female have gotten angry at someone... :/

if the woman was having pms all the time, it's probably a serious medical condition. i think men just get off saying that because there isn't a male counterpart to pms (or at least that most people are aware of)

There is. Men produce sperm constantly, and that's why some of them are worse than others.

I hate when creepy men we won't let into our pants blame it on PMS. You know the type: the ones who seem incapable of comprehending that they are in fact extremely unattractive or annoying.

The trouble is, I know plenty of women who want to blame their all problems on PMS, too. With this nifty excuse, they can be indecent to people 24/7. Doesn't help the case for the rest of us.

PMS is just another excuse not to take women seriously on serious issues. First, society shames women about bodily functions they can't control to the point that they fear to even mention it in a man's presence or to talk about it openly where a lot of people can hear, and that leaves people free to not know when a woman actually is on her period thus assuming, whenever she isn't happily serving the patriarchy, she must be suffering from PMS. Not that some women don't actually use this as an excuse (I knew one once), but I've certainly been accused of it more times than I care to try and remember. I did read something interesting once, though. I don't know how true it is, but supposedly, just before and during our periods, when we're thought to be the most "bitchy", we're producing hormones that men regularly produce. Something to ponder.

I hate that, especially since only about 3% of women actually experience PMS. Even if it is PMS, it's always safer to assume that something is actually wrong, because just having other people express concern can make a person feel a bit better.

Thank you very much. I am a girl and I do PMS, but no one seems to get that it's not the only reason I ever get emotional. I'm just... emotional. And I act crabby because I don't sleep enough XD

8} i dont have mood swings or crazy women things happen to me. Just half-assed labor pains. nbd. but I don't fit the bill for "normal female behavior" from day to day (the soft, sweet, and empathic) because it's not important to me, so I'm considered either 24/7 PMS/betch.
If they knew that periods don't happen every day of a month (which i would think they would if they had any contact with women) I'd think they would know better than to say that, and YET... hahaha

i know. it's really annoying. i was never blamed on pms even if i HAD it, but if i was, those douchebags would be REALLy srry. but anyways, wat i also hate is the fact that guys are bigs jerks about PMS and some might even preted to care, when REALLY they don't AT ALL. I also hate it when guys always say false stuff about girls as in like, "girls are always emotional," and other shit. and whenever that happens, i always feel like saying, "how would YOU know?! You're a GUY!"
anyways, srry for this rant. I get outta control sometimes...

This is the reason I tell people when I get my period. At first people think it's TMI, but then they get the picture pretty quickly. It's better to say "Oh by the way it's that time o' the month, so I'm going to act like a crazy person for the next week," and have people be grossed out briefly than to have every single time I try to act on an emotion be blamed on LADYPROBLEMS.

I won't lie when I say I do get mood swings pretty badly when I'm PMSing.
But you know what? I'd like to see a guy have to deal with that. I'd like to see a guy bleed for five days, complete with god-awful cramps, mood swings, bloating, and crazy chocolate cravings, and NOT get bitchy.

My dad said that to me once, I nearly killed him for it -w-'''
Because honestly, when you're normally a very calm, reasonable person, and you get mad, it's for good reason. When your father tells you that 'you're just pmsing' when you're upset that a teacher at school did something hateful and cruel, then you get worse. Much, much worse.
