Description Watchful sentries at the crossroads,
keeping an eye out for each other...

Update: No amount of editing can make up for a lack of skill, but I figured I could at least touch it up a bit.

what the heck are you talking about!? This is so wonderful, purdy, and it just fits so nicely with the other things. The colors are so true, and the closeup of the flowers and plants. It definitely looks like they are watching you!

I'm glad you find the title fitting. The composition of this one is decent, and I brought out more of the original color with some post-processing, but I'm unhappy overall with the focusing (not enough distinction between foreground and background) and lighting (sort of grayish and bland)...

Loving the composition. It's a photo of flowers that aren't all tangled in on another. It actually has a logical composition and that makes it really good. The subject is very well focused, the angle is great. The "bad" thing about it is ... that as far as colors go .. well they aren't a important feature and they should be. A bit of photoshop to make the petals whiter , the green more vibrant and a color layer to make it more glowing might make it more spectacular; but I am aware that you have some editing skill and if you haven't edited it then you like it like it is

You know, you hit on the head the battle I fight with a lot of my photos: to edit or not to edit? Although I love and am constantly amazed by the digital editing that people do to photographs (and I have fun with experimenting in Photoshop), I have this personal creed to not edit my own photos if I can help it. My reasoning behind this is that I originally took a picture of something because I liked it the way it was. I wasn't thinking about how I could edit or change it!

Still, you have a very good point. I noticed that the colors were grayer than I would have liked them to be, and the color should've played a larger part.... A little touch up - nothing extreme - to the photo probably could improve it a lot without making me feel like I've betrayed myself. So, thank you a lot for the critique! I think that I may compromise and brush up this photo a bit after all.
