Description it's been a while since i touched clay, so lets correct that shall we

i am planning on doing a 1:30th scale diorama, depicting Tarbosaurus taking down a saurolophus. thus far, i am working on the skulls of both creatures. admittedly, i went a little overboard with the detail on the Tarbosaurus skull ( being that it's going to be covered in clay at the end) but i actually had fun detailing it. have to say, this is the best theropod skull i made yet.

You still build clay models that looks definitely like flesh. I would mistake this as some nice raw chicken for cooking

That is so awesome that you make a full skull underneath everything, even though it seems like tons of work! It reminds me of people that do epic chalk art even though they know it will be gone in the next rain... even though I would never be able to do that! So I am wondering why? Is that just so you can get the anatomy spot-on? Or just because it's cool?

it's a combination of both actually. get the sculpture to have proportions that matches the actual animal as much as possible, and this tyrannosaurs have badass looking skulls

That's so true! I don't know if I could bear to cover it up though ;_;
Keep up the awesome work though, I can't wait to see what it looks like!

That's epic. Very well done, never knew it was possible to work with so much precision on clay. I should try it sometime....
