I've been wondering how better Sonic Forces could've been lately, if some small changes here and there have been made. Like, the identity of Infinite, one of our major antagonists. The guy's like the Mephiles of our days, really, you can just swap their models and there'd be little to no difference. ...I think someone has actually done that already.
Well, I see Infinite could be someone subjected to Eggman's robotization, especially since the good doctor mentioned the process in his Sonic Forces-related trailers. Plant the Phantom Ruby into the subject's chest, connect it with some machinery so he'd be able to utilize it. Oh, and the voice. I think it would've been no less intimidating if not more, if Infinite's been omniously quiet. That way he could've also avoided all those memes about his speeches and... "I AM NOT WEAK!". Not that I mind it, please, it's funny. But I think that a certain Eggman is quite enough to deliver the punchline.
By the way, I've based his robotic arm on Dr. Robotnik's from those SatAM and Underground cartoons. Ah, the days when Dr. Robotnik's been successful enough to conquer the world. Now, that I think about it, I've accidentally made it all too symbolic, since Dr. Eggman managed to take over the world in Sonic Forces.
