Description - And who might you be? - the warlord asked angrily holding the blue hedgehog by his scarf.
- Someone you will learn to hate, Eggman, - the normally easy-going hedgehog replied with surprising seriousness. Not like Robotnik was intimidated by the fastest thing alive.
- I already hate you.
- I don't know how or when, but you will crash and burn, pal, - Sonic said, scoring a laugh out of the dreaded conqueror.
- Oh, my, I'm shaking in my boots, - the man mocked, before the hedgehog in his arms got out of his grip and started to run around him at marvelous speed, turning into a blue blur not recognizable by human eye. As Sonic got away, he left his archenemy spinning around, until his arm landed onto the roboticizer, ready to turn the blue rodent into another robotic warrior, yet turning on its master and turning his left arm into living metal. Robotnik grasped his arm in shock and though seething pain screamed orders at his badniks.
- Get that hedgehog! - in rage he slammed his robotic fist against a random console, forcing it to crumble under his strength after the slams repeated. - Get him! GET HIM!
- Boss, your hand... - one of his assistants, a red spheric robot, got worried about the doctor's state of both body and mind.
- As long as I can still strangle a hedgehog, my hands are fine, - the doctor turned to the destroyed console. - Eggman, huh? Given in scorn, but I shall adopt it in pride. Doctor Eggman, the greatest scientific genius in the world. Very well, hedgehog... Let us see which one of us will crash and burn.

I've been thinking about the threatening Dr. Robotnik of the past. Of SatAM and, lesser, Sonic Underground. Notable that sometimes Dr. Eggman of the present is able to be both effective and threatening too, from time to time. His appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, while underwhelming, was still effective, especially in the opening cutscene. And all of the boss battles against his creations, Egg Cerberus, Egg Genesis and Egg Wyvern are among the best things about the game. Then there's the mad battle against his Egg Dragoon in Sonic Unleashed, where he feels intimidating, his reinstatement as the Big Bad of the franchise in Sonic Generations, his fury against the Zeti in Sonic Lost World and his total success in conquering the world in Sonic Forces. To be fair, I also think his mecha in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric has also been somewhat intimidating by local standards. It has a cool design and MAN it's been satisfying to see Lyric's shock when the latter realizes that he can't just take control over Eggman's mecha because it's manually controlled.
In the actual Sonic Boom Animated Series, while Eggman gets a number of good hits, it's kinda hard to really take the guy seriously. So I thought what if Dr. Eggman of the past would take over this place while maintaining some goofiness of other versions. Given that in Archie Comics the original, not-so-fit Dr. Robotnik gave Sonic a close-combat fight of his life before perishing, more physically fit version of him could actually make an even more dangerous foe for our blue hero by challenging him up-close from time to time, as a last resort.

Comment, put this in your favorites and subscribe to be aware when I submit another Sonic-related piece of art. I want some feedback, people - like Dr. Robotnik himself, I crave for attention. When I'm not too busy taking over the world, of course.
Oh, and don't miss my videogame-related comic series. Notable thing is that one of two main characters of it is inspired by the Blue Blur himself, as well as his nemesis is inspired by Dr. Eggman. Worth checking out I'd say.

you not the only one who was fascinated by eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, his type of personality went from goofy inventor to serious scientist at a flick of a switch. it tells that he can be like that whenever he wants to be.

My first introduction to the Doctor was from both Sonic X and Sonic SatAM I used to watch with my cousin. Both of them were epic in their own way. The Doctor from Sonic '06 I initially saw as a perfect case of goofy Eggman assuming serious Robotnik's ruthlessness and intimidation factor, when I saw that opening cutscene. Too bad the game was... well... The '06 we all know. The Boom version seemed promising due to his imposing look, but his performance... Mostly meh. But we're getting closer to our Perfect Eggman.
