I think there are enough fantasy transformational aspects to turning into a blueberry as to negate skeletal, muscular, or other forms of injury/damage. If one is willing to accept the existence of chewing gum with the miraculous capacity to make someone turn blue and swell up with gallons of juice, one must also be willing to accept that the body would be able to adapt to the change in some capacity, in my view.
