Not long ago, a battle between Spider-Man and Osborn ended in the Dark Dimension.
Osborn ended up lethally wounded. Parker chose to leave him there, abandoning him to his fate.

Unbeknownst to them both, a powerful demon had recently been defeated by the ruler of this dimension, Dormammu.
Its soul seeking a body strong enough to contain its power, it found Osborn.

The possession saved his life, but left him madder than ever, as the two minds battle for dominance!
In most matters the demon wins...but not when it comes to Osborns revenge, not when it comes to Spider-man.

The orange lightning he summons and wields is the power of the demon itself.
It pulls in electrical energy from the dark dimsension and empowers it with destructive magic.

As for the symbiote wyvern he rides on, it's a draconic demon!
the technarchy symbiote is one of a collective that managed to escape its former Masters destruction at the hands of Black Widow
It found and bonded to this demon, a demon that is a servant of the one possessing Osborn!
This magical subservience prevents it from spreading the teachno-organic virus to Osborn.
