Been replaying Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, played through it as jacks Doppelganger for the first time!
Loved it! Inspired me to draw more Borderlands of course

After the death of Handsome Jack by Lilith, his body was left to be devoured by the lava in the warriors arena.
Leaving his body there was a mistake, as hyperion scientists stood by ready to retrieve it for "project Phoenix".

After years of experimentation with eridium and nanotech they had developed a process that could revive the recently dead.
Some memory loss would ocurr, more the longer one stayed dead.
An AI version of Jack was used to fill in the blanks in his mind.
This left his mind even more unstable.

The scientists that revived him had also been given orders to find a way to artificially grant someone siren powers.
They told Jack that this process was still highly volatile, as most test-subjects had exloded.
However, attempts to bind siren powers to Jacks DNA had gradually progressed...
in Jacks mind "gradually progressed" meant "excellent results"!

Using blood samples of lilith and maya, in conjuction with eridium, they managed to give jack unstable siren-like powers!

He can project energy in any shape he imagines and give it solid form.
However since his power is unstable, the shape quickly degrades and then explodes.

While he has some internal cybernetics, the external ones are digi-structed on to him whenever he uses his siren powers.

The cybernetics are not just enhancements, they are necesarry for jack to survive!
Whenever he actively use his new abilities, energy continues to build up to the point where it begins to damage him.
They regulate his energy and expel it through his mechanical wing before the energy become uncontrollable.
Without it, his "Siren" powers would break down his body.

Still fighting to prevent the future he had forseen: Bandits and psychos roaming across the galaxy,
the eridian legacy powers unleashed, a universe in utter chaos.

"So bandits ALL OVER the galaxy huh, guess i was right.
Don't worry kiddos, daddy's back home."
