After the Venom-Knight killed lord Stark, the Spider-Samurai went to warn lord Doom.

"He killed lord Stark and took what he was guarding, he took Excalibur."

"You believe he will come here next, to claim the other, the Ebony Blade."

"Yes. He defeated me and lord Stark, with excalibur in hand he...may be beyond you."

"The gods thought themselves my betters, they have since been...humbled.
Tell me more of this "Venom-Knight", of his living armor."

Doom was intrigued by the spider-samurais description of venom, a living, shapeshifting armor!
He had to learn more, to comprehend what it is.

The Sorcerer Supreme had left Excalibur and the Ebony Blade to be guarded by Lord Stark
and Lord Doom when he had to leave this dimension.
He left when he had become "possessed by Vengeance".

This version of Doom has had Mjolnir in his possession for years, locked away in his castle.
While he cannot lift it, he has studied it for a very long time.
Through his science and magic he has managed to construct his own version of the hammer,
imbuing him with thunder and godly strength!
