I did some redesigns for my favorite superhero a while back. I'm surprised that I haven't uploaded them yet, but here they are now.Some ideas that I wanted to play with:
Spidey's shirt is a jacket a pullover shirt (easier for costume changes).
costume looks "incomplete" on the bottom because he messed up and ran out of materials (seemed like Parker problem)
He'd have a black suit before the symbiote came into his life.

A set of Danskins or even those new bodysuits would be a good base for the pullover jacket-style.
One thing I always thought was the color lightening of his suit was simple - back then, repeated washings turned the blue lighter and lighter, and the red less intense. Too much bleach, too much color bleed.

I was thinking something more "sporty" (like biking) because I don't think the first thing Peter would want to do is put on a dancer's leotard (or worse a unitard). But the cyclist gear is still comically tight, and allows him to perform all of his high flying adventures (which I'm still convinced can be done just as well in sweat pants and a hoodie).
But I like the color lightening idea, something I never thought about (even though I'm pretty sure he would do most of washing by hand in his basement-lair). It could explain his suit going from "black" to blue.

Hand washing? Yeah, he's done that in his bathtub in Chelsea. There was another good one where he just webbed up his face and waltzed into a coin op laundry to be on time for a TV interview. 
He's had many an adventure keeping those suits clean.

Don't know of any of stories, but they all seem like things that'll happen to Spidey.

I actually quite like these. The Red and blues are my favourites due to nostalgia, but I do like the black ones. Suposedly, his suit was originally suposed to be red and black, but it always looked like he was wearing dark blue, so later colourists changed it to blue by mistake. Its funny howmuch useless trivia I know.

I was thinking the same thing when I was making this. I imagined when Spidey was "getting" fabric for his suit he grabbed dark blue tights thinking they where black because it was nighttime.
