Description This is a technical overview of the Remembrance-class frigate, which is the UNSC frigate after it is refitted with ultra modern technology.

This is based on an image of Halo Reach's Frigate model, which Bungie released at some point, and can be found with a quick internet search. The background was cut using Paint.NET and the writing added in Inkscape.

Once again, I didn't create the model, it's an image of a model released by Bungie.

Funny how this is the most viewed and most faved of all my work- yet took the least effort! All I did was cut out the background and add a few labels. xD

Please check out my other stuff, as it deserves more love!

lets see, the three classes of UNSC Frigates seen in HALO 2, HALO 3, and Reach,
were the Stalwart-Class Light Frigate (UNSC In Amber Clad)
Charon-Class Ground Assault Frigate/Fleet Escort Frigate (UNSC Forward Unto Dawn)
and the Paris-Class Heavy Frigate (UNSC Savannah)Β
the Infinity-Class Battleships carry 10 Strident-Class Light Frigates in the ventral hangar bays, (though i don't know much about the Stridents, except that they're visually similar to the Charon-Class, except minus the ventral hangar bay)

These were the smaller class ship in the UNSC until they had improvements until 2553. Sadly, the original designs did not stand a chance against Covenant ships like the SDV-class heavy corvette destroying UNSC Savannah.

I can't believe I never noticed that UNSC ships look like giant gun!

Very nice ship. I was always fond of this class of ship (I think canonically it's a Paris-class), and it really has a nice Human feel to it that I just love to see in science fiction. I mean, I could actually see this being used as a space vehicle by some military force in the future.

yeah, the narrow ventral fin, as well as the narrowing of the side-mounted pods, (where the 50mm PDG's are mounted) identify it as a Paris-Class, like the UNSC Savannah

I suppose it does a bit. I still think it's one of Bungie's best designs, though.

RT-636 UNSC Mother of Invention.

Coolest ship ever... of all time.

Why do I get the feeling we'll see Grif fly it before the end of the series.

except the MoI was destroyed...

Browncoat1969 In reply to HighAdmiralViese [2015-12-02 23:59:01 +0000 UTC]

The MoI crashed, it wasn't destroyed in fact the hull seemed to be pretty much intact.
Β Warships probably still cost a lot of money in the future,Β  so any crashed ships with an intact hull and only minor structural damageΒ  are probably repaired and returned to service. Any that are too badly damaged are stripped for serviceable parts and the rest is recovered for scrap metal.

The MoI crashed somewhere within UNSC territory so it's likely to have been recovered and put back into service with the Navy or possibly it was listed as destroyed and ended up in ONI's fleet. (Something ONI has been known to do, within the canon.)

That's true, I often laughed at how, between seasons 9-10 (or was it 8-9?) the Mother of Invention went from a Charon-class Ground Support Frigate/Light Frigate, to a Paris-class Fleet Escort/Heavy Frigate...

Those are bumblebees? They look a bit small.

SplinteredMatt In reply to Katamariguy [2012-04-18 10:59:54 +0000 UTC]

I've labelled them as Bumblebees, because they're the only UNSC escape pod we know of so far, but they're actually completely the wrong shape. In my own drawings I've replaced the triangular hatches for oval-shaped ones that look more like they hold a Bumblebee inside.

I like how everything of note is pointed out, the weapons, the thrusters, etc. etc. But Where is the Turret on the back end of it? (this is the same class as the Savannah from Halo:Reach, unless I am mistaken)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SplinteredMatt In reply to noneofurbussiness [2012-01-30 12:43:40 +0000 UTC]

No, you're absolutely right. I removed the rear turret because I didn't think it made sense to only one separate from the others. I've since learned that there is one on the bottom at the back too, so it does make quite a lot of sense to have two at the back. It was also a lot easier to just delete the turret!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

noneofurbussiness In reply to SplinteredMatt [2012-01-30 16:17:06 +0000 UTC]

I thought it makes sense, perhaps not as symetrical and eye appealing, but without it I think it leaves the rear of the ship a little vulnerable to hostilities. The rows of turrets on the sides give ample cover to just about all the directions except the back end seems to be a little bit of a blind zone. And I guess your right, just easier not to have it XD haha

Still, I like this!

SplinteredMatt In reply to noneofurbussiness [2012-01-30 17:30:30 +0000 UTC]

Definitely makes sense having turrets facing aft, but I didn't like the idea of just one there. Now I know that there are actually two, I'll definitely include it if I ever do an update. Thanks for the input!

You're right, that is the bridge, at least in the version that appears in the games. In my version here though, the bridge is moved somewhere less ridiculously vulnerable inside the ship, and replaced by an observation deck
