Brief Story Quirena is an absolutely beautiful mare who is from a wild Quiarota herd residing somewhere in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Her history is largely unknown, as she was found away from her original family in a national wildlife reserve. Somehow, she had wandered many miles away from her mountainous habitat and it was determined that, given that she was alone and in unfamiliar terrain, it was best to relocate her for her own safety. Since most Quiarota are rather timid around humans, it was somewhat difficult to accomplish this task - but she was much less stressed by the ordeal than we originally feared. We are very thankful for that success, especially considering the fact that most relocation efforts involving adult Quiarota are rarely so smooth. We believe Quirena was separated from her herd before she managed to find a mate there or was 'widowed' by a mate abnormally early in life. She is very young in age, so we both prefer and see more evidence for the former circumstance. Whatever the case, there is no explanation for her eventual separation from her herd. We wonder what that will mean for her introduction to our growing program.
Before she is introduced into the small herd we have here, she will be participate in a hybrid breeding program with an Epos stallion at ~SkyeWilde-Stables . It is our hope that, given her remarkable coloration and lovely formation, she will yield an excellent start to that hybridization project. While she is participating in this program, she will become acquainted with a pre-chosen stallion. Their pairing may be natural or artificial, depending on how the two respond to one another. Since Quirena has evidently been separated from other horses for some time, and since we fear she may be scarred by whatever event forced her from her original family, we are worried that her readjustment to another Quiarota herd may not be exceptionally easy for her. Since Quiarota do not bond as quickly or as dramatically to horses of other breeds, we are hoping that spending some time with other horses before transitioning into an established Quiarota group will give her a chance to return to communal life - while minimizing the chances that she will reject the small herd she is destined to go to very soon.
Quirena is generally skittish toward humans, but is appearing to adjust to life with other horses surely (if slowly) enough. Since she is very recently placed in a new environment, she is exhibiting the introverted tendencies that all Quiarota express in uncomfortable, isolated environments. However, she is beginning to break out of her shell when interacting with her new stallion friend, Aslan's Light . We are taking this to be an excellent signal that her comfort level will continue to grow, and her participation in both the hybridization program at ~SkyeWilde-Stables and the Quiarota herd she will eventually will prove positive and enjoyable for her.
Quirena's marking rests in the earthen niche. A feather with small swirling details, it appears twice on her body - with both appearances on her left side. She is yet to show her true colors to her human observers, but the shimmers of her personality which we do see mimic her symbol in at least one small way: she is very wistful. Her eyes are constantly full of thought and very expressive, and her demeanor, even in her most stressful moments, always tends to be peaceful. When faced with a circumstance or individual she does not wish to encounter, she simply turns heel and avoids it altogether. Although this behavior seemed flighty and jittery at first, it is much smoother now and the thoughtful expression on her face rarely skips a beat. We think that, once she's more at ease, a certain degree of wisdom will come along with her general nature.
BREEDING INFO
Quirena is not currently available for breeding, as she is already participating in an outside breeding program. Depending on how well she adjusts and how she bonds with her fellow Quiarota , she may or may not be available for breeding in the future. Check back here for updates.
QUIAROTA INFO
This is an original breed of my creation. If you are interested in acquiring a Quiarota of your own, please note me with your request. I am willing to create a design for you (which, depending on demand and time commitment, may be associated with a small price of a few points), and I am also willing to approve an original design of your creation. We can discuss specifics on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks for looking! I'll be updating her story and status if/when necessary in the future.
[Please don't steal. This is an original character within an original breed. I will be happy to accomodate/work with you in creating your own - so please don't take advantage of my hard work! This lineart is mine, and is also not free.]
