Like, I just was never allowed/able to adopt one. I've got my little gecko bab, though, and TBH I always wanted a gecko pet more.

Heck yeah they are. You just have to clean up their poop corners and check their temp/humidity levels a few times a day. Make sure their water dish is full and change out their calcium every so often. They can be very selective about their diets, though, and sometimes will just stop eating certain things altogether. Like, they're stubborn. Luckily they eat a lot of different things so they shouldn't go hungry. I do like taking Tawny out to socialize with her so she isn't too bored. They usually sleep all day and are active at night. They climb on things and dig in their bedding. She's a cutie pie.
