Solstice on the Shores Quest II: Rip Currents

At first, Logan doesn't pay much mind to the foxes on the other side of the pond. She can hear kits splashing and playing in the water and its... pleasant. When she closed her eyesand just listened, she could almost imagine that they were just a couple of noisy wolf pups, and the wraith was content to turn her back and ignore them. She didn't come out here to have old memories and wounds dragged out to dry. She was just about to doze off in her shady spot too, but then there was a larger splash, and one of the kits squealed.

Maternal instinct propels her over to wrestle the baby fox away from the snapping turtle trying to drag it deeper into the water, and Haymitch is hot on her heels. The two of them send the turtle scurrying back into the depths, and the kit rejoins its family while the old wolf and her badger linger by the water. Logan isn't sure what exactly she feels when she watches the little family vanish into the undergrowth, but... she's glad that she was able to save a life.

Even if it was the life of a fox.

For those of you who are familiar with Logan's history, there's a certain irony here in her saving a fox cub from death ;] it's not lost on her after the moment passes, but she couldn't just stand by and do nothing while a baby was in distress, no matter what she's done in her past. It was the right thing to do.
