There were more good episodes and less bad ones. There were also more episodes I'd call perfect. Unfortunately, the bad episodes of this season hurt enough for it to be just okay and still be part of the dark age.

No, it's not the eye scene. I don't mind that (Nor the toenail scene from House Fancy now that you mention it.). I find that the episode did barely anything with its premise and I found it pretty boring.

Because in my opinion it's gross, and with the eyes popping in Plankton scene, the worst part is the eye coming out of Plankton's mouth. *sorry to mention it*
