Description
Request a cartoon scorecard here: spongeguy11.deviantart.com/art…This season aired on Disney Channel instead of Disney XD due to massive rebranding at the time.
As the final season, its pretty clear that the show's ran out of steam and has got the final nail in the coffin. Humor's even weaker, shipping's more prominent than it should be, weak writing, poor storytelling, forced drama, and episodes are just boring wastes of time now. Remember back when the show was about two platonic friends going on wacky adventures with fluid animation? Well, those golden days are now gone with the new and weaker direction the show took.
In the end, the ones that are my favorites are Buff Frog, Tom, Eclipsa, Ludo, and Meteora. The rest range from Fine to Okay to Neutral to Dislike.
So long Star Vs. It was nice knowing ya (or just seasons 1-2 anyway).
Top 5 Worst:
1. Curse of the Blood Moon Ball
2. Sad Teen Hotline
3. Here to Help
4. Cleaved!
5. The Ponyhead Show
Top 5 Best:
1. Cornonation
2. Cornball
3. The Monster and the Queen
4. Princess Quasar Caterpillar and the Magic Bell
5. Yada Yada Berries

Honestly in Queen-naped I was confused, how exactly did Ponyhead's plan of faking Eclipsa's kidnapping work for everyone to like, how many people suddenly stopped hating Eclipsa for being kidnapped and rescued?
That is, I have a president who has caused more misery and deaths than cancer, and if he was kidnapped one day, I would beg on my knees to never be rescued.

Nah, I'm not angered enough to hate them in a 0/10 way and anyway, Ponyhead Show at least had a good song that saved it from 3/10.

And to think the cartoon community was calling this show one of the best cartoons of the decade right when it was out of the gate. Ironically the opposite response to shows like Sanjay and Craig and Gumball. Those shows were called low-brow and derivative when they first came out, but as they went on they managed to find their identities and improve.
I don't think the concept of a show taking a more serious shift in tone is a bad thing, as long as it does so it gracefully and still supply interesting stories with likeable characters. Codename: Kids Next Door in my opinion is the perfect example of how to do a transition from an episodic comedy to a show with a more serious tone. For one, the characters stayed in character as the show progressed. Two, it still allowed itself to have one-off lighter stories separate from the more intense stories and underlying arcs. Three, later seasons added new elements while not subtracting ones and still being able to find a balance between the old and new. Four, it actually followed through with focusing on expanding the world beyond the Sector V team, and didn't bog itself down with love triangles or protagonist centred viewpoints. Star Vs, from what I've heard, pretty much made every bad move KND didn't take.

I pretty much agree with everything you said.
Still, I feel Star Vs. is a great show inspite of its lackluster final season.
I don't hear anyone calling Boondocks trash despite of its seasonal rot.

I still think SVTFOE is one of the best shows ever and is still one of my favorites despite this last season.

I feel you. I still find cartoons like Regular Show and Ben 10 Alien Force to be some of my favourites in spite of their flaws.

Season 4 was so rushed and it's so obvious. All that wasted time on filler episodes in that extra long season 2 really hurt the structure and pacing of the show, to the point where overly-drawn out plot lines like Globgor being stuck in crystal and Moon being gone meant that all the remaining plot lines had to be brought to a very sudden and abrupt end. Ludo was completely given the shaft this season. Dude shows up in ONE episode to wrap up his plot line and that's it: no resolution with Star and Marco, no resolution with Buff Frog, no resolution to Mewni for all the shit he caused, and no resolution for his parents, who could have easily been fleshed out to either be made into villains, or spun into a tragic broken marriage. So much potential was wasted. So many side characters just had their plotlines railroaded just to finish the story. What a mess. To be completely honest. I thought Cleaved was stupid, and honestly is only surpassed by Storm the Castle as being the worst season finale. Star realistically had no right destroying the magic. It was HER people that abused it for centuries. And now, millions of lives have to be drastically changed because some racist ass Mewmans wanna destroy some weird looking people and giant creatures.

You know what? Someone's gotta say it.
Star Vs. should have stayed as a goofy, episodic show instead of being a try-hard, story-heavy show.
Season 4 was honestly a bore IMO. The only arc I was actually interested in was seeing how Mewmans would get along with monsters, but even then, in the end, I thought the execution was still a bit weak.

I apologize for my wording.
While I'm not against the idea of a comedy-based show like Star vs. becoming more story-heavy, it tried so desparately hard to tell a serious story that it completely dropped everything that made it so lovable in the first place.

Yeah, I honestly wouldve preferred the goofy episodic approsch from season 1 instead of the forced drama from 3-4. Miss Heinous was the best arc about that era and that was it. Sure Tom got development and Eclipsa is cool but if we have to sit through all this nonsense to get that, I would just prefer season 1 anyday.

You already know why Cleaved sucks, Here to Help and Pizza Party had Moon's poor portrayal in the most forced way possible plus their boring, and overall, the rest are also pretty boring and a couple are even too shippy for my tastes.
