Looks like I'm revealing this ship sooner than I thought because of this week lol
Get ready for more info on my characters if you're interested.

During Acacia's meeting to discuss the moon issue with Queen Crest and request animus powers be used to stop an imminent moon-on-moon-on-moon collision, Queen Crest couldn't help but take notice that she knew Acacia from when they went to Jade Mountain Academy. Crest wasn't expecting to see Acacia of all dragons, since she remembered Acacia was quite shy and antisocial, only seeming to really open up when she was talking about the moons. So Queen Crest trusted Acacia to know her stuff and agreed to try a spell because of how seriously Acacia was taking it.

Queen Crest never had any interest in astronomy, but hearing Acacia talk about the moons sparked some curiosity in her. How did the moons connect to dragons? How did each different moon affect dragons? What kind of history is there? Is it possible to travel there without animus powers?
After Queen Crest had tried her spell on the moons with seemingly no effect, she started asking some of these questions to Acacia, and was impressed (but not surprised) at how much Acacia knew. Most of all, Queen Crest admired Acacia's determination to find a way to fly to the moons without begging for any animus magic to be used. Acacia was determined that there was some way.

They had talked the whole night through, although Acacia seemed more and more concerned with the moons not changing back to their original paths. Queen Crest tried to comfort Acacia and suggest that maybe the moons were fine after all. They could discuss other ideas (and more astronomy) later - something Queen Crest rarely offered to her visitors.

Anyway, neither Crest, nor Acacia, really expected a relationship out of this, it just sorta... happened. Queen Crest truly found Acacia admirable and inspiring, even, though Acacia insisted she wasn't that special.
Admittedly it ended up being a bit more of a fling, as their different duties kept them apart. But perhaps, if stars aligned, they could spend more time together, as partners in beginning a project of space exploration.

Or perhaps not.
