ay im at it again with my self-indulgent headworld, star sins. Im so sorry to anyone trying to figure out what even happens in any of it, because I post so vaguely about it lmaoAnyway I have multiple aus that I toy around with from star sins, and I've recently been thinking about one where Niaou Becomes Evil (Kinda) tm
Uhhh basically in the original story Niaou had the first gen Leo entrusting him to take her role as Head-Sun, since he was the 100th generation’s Sun and she basically saw him (and the rest of the generation) as reincarnations of the 1st generation. Which is... kind of true? It’s a bit more complicated than just reincarnation, but what’s important is that the first gen Leo puts a lot of pressure on Niaou to live up to her expectations - to resemble her lead.
But in the original, Niaou has his friends to lean back on and things turn out fine in the end (well mostly fine)
In this version, things don’t go as well.
((this story is pretty dark and angsty, be warned))
The first gen Leo decides early on that she can’t entrust the future Head-Sun, her own damn reincarnation, in the hands of the 99th generation (usually the last gen raises the next) so she raises Niaou personally, practically breathing down his neck at his every decision. And from there, things only get worse.
When Niaou disappoints her, she tries to figure out why. She figures out the problem, what he needs to learn. A lesson she’s learned all too well.
“Friends” hurt you. Sometimes you need trim them away.
She kills Logiki in front of him. Like he was nothing at all.
It continues from that point, more and more deaths. The 100th generation was becoming as broken as the 1st. And Niaou was at the center.
Logiki, Akouo, Vomva, Eros, Ana, and Kleise were all dead when Niaou decided he'd had enough. He would finally be what his "mother" wanted. He'd be the Head-Sun. But he would end everything. Trim this stupid system of her creation away.
After some vague planning, he ended the 1st generation for good, killing the first Leo, Scorpio and the 13th sign. And in his shaky mental state, he killed Zon as well. Once he realized he just killed one of his own generation by his own hands, he demands that his remaining "friends" run away, save themselves from what he was planning before he hurt them too.
Thrasis, Nikaia, and Kat run away, but Froura insists on staying, even despite everything. Niaou lets her, mostly because he still feared being all alone.
From there Niaou begins to enact his plans to end or scatter all remaining generations. I'll save the details of that for a later date.
To Niaou and Froura's surprise, Zon didn't ever start decaying. In fact, he just... woke up some days later with a blade still dug into his face.
Zon was in an oddly similar situation to Niaou throughout all this. While Niaou was being smothered by the 1st gen Leo, Zon was being tutored by the 1st gen Scorpio. She had much different expectations for her "reincarnation" however. She tells Zon what she believes to be the "real" role of Pluto; to end your own generation. To be hurted and hurt back until nothing's left.
Zon... never really understood what she meant by that. Or at least couldn't bring himself to. He never got the whole reincarnations thing anyway. While the others had visions of their former selves (even Niaou,) Zon had felt nothing. No visions. No old desires. Maybe he was defective or something, but he tried not to think to hard about it.
Truthfully, Zon just wanted everyone else to be okay. And when everyone started dying he felt just as helpless as Niaou. Desperate. Zon would even try offering himself to be executed before anyone else - but it fell on deaf ears. In the end, Zon never wanted whatever the 1st gen Scorpio did. He just wanted his friends back.
When Zon survived his near fatal injury, he woke up with an idea (and a piercing headache.) A desperate idea that had been forming for a while.
Maybe he could bring them back to life.
Anyway the story continues and gets more wild from there. Zon still has the blade (spear? it's icicle shaped I don't know what to call it) stuck in his head because Froura and Niaou didn't want to risk hurting him more. Also they don't have any medical expertise, so it'd be a bad idea to try prying it out, probably.
There's some more cool stuff with other characters. Maybe I'll explain more of it someday. It's fun to revisit these stories after weeks of not thinking about them, and then adding more with new ideas.
The first gen characters have names, I'm just debating whether I want to change their names, so that's why they're nameless here.
Also some design notes; Niaou and Zon are bit older in this image than I usually depict them. They've also seen better days. Niaou has a scar under his right eye. Zon's mouth is almost always bleeding a little after nearly dying. Niaou's stars are a lot more scattered and small because of stress. Zon's hair is absurdly thick and messy when he doesn't groom it.
And no I do not know what I'm doing with clothing.
