Description This was the final outcome for my year 12 course work, I put my soul into this.
The character I used is my OC Gemini, she has had most of her body replaced with artificial... parts?
I dont know what the word would be because it not just limbs
This piece is about her coming to terms with her body, its also about figureing yourself out, over comeing inner troubles, and all that jazz.
Its acrylic on wood board

Nice. Props for handling acrylics. I never got the hang of oils or acrylics. What does "OC" stand for? "Original character"?

Gemini must be a cyborg, then. The piece is quite centered though not symmetrical, fortunately. If Gemini's legs were slightly more apart, it might add visual interest. But it's good work overall.

Thankyou very much! Im always glad to receive constructive criticism!
Yes, OC stands for original character.
Do you think? In some earlier designs her legs
were more relaxed, but I decided to try show a slight hesitation, like the "water" was a bit cold, and she was lowering her legs in slowly. This is a piece I would like to revisit one day, so I will think about details like that when I come back to it!
Again thankyou so much, I really appreciate comments like this ^.^

This painting look absolutely amazing, and kind of creepy. Β

Thanks!
And I have no idea, because shes still human, but one of her arms shoulders, both legs and some of the left side of her body was replaced, but shes not really a robot, its more like advanced prosthetics or something

and yeah, its pretty dark for me, my stuff is usually way more light hearted!

Gold-Horned-Alpha In reply to SpoonNib [2016-10-21 17:26:05 +0000 UTC]

It's okay to draw dark and creepy things. It adds a nice contrast to your other contents, and it shows that you can.

A lot of people can figure out how to draw/paint creepy things, because they aren't very subtle when they do it.

This is true, and yeah making something that is genuinely creepy is difficult!
