Spent the day on this yesterday, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! It was a fun exercise to try to emulate the old comic style of colouring, even as my brain kept yelling "BUT IT NEEDS SHADING DETAILS...MORE COLORS...COLORS THAT ACTUALLY MATCH". None of those were around in the 60s, so!

This is so fab. I love old comic book style (There's an old school Wonder Woman notebook sitting right next to me in fact!) and the colors are excellent. Your art style fits so perfectly with this coloring ;_; Amazing stuff as always

Thank you!! I agree. Oldschool comics, both illustration and writing wise, really are an artistic gem we'll never get back. I'd give up all the photoshoppy realism and complicated plot lines people fit into comics nowadays to go back to 3 colors and times when we had such titles as "What if World War 2 Was Fought In Outer Space" (i read it yesterday)

I love the colors on this. Rocking the Benday dots is one thing, but you even nailed how the separations weren't super-accurate back then.

Hahahaha, I was just talking to someone a little while ago about all the bizarre "What If" comics they used to make. My friend swore that there was a "What if Spider-Man was a dog" or something to that effect XD But yeah, I can't even read contemporary comics because the illustrations are so busy with details and colors and novel-length speech bubbles it's like a sensory overload. The old stuff is really fun to peruse though, both for the art style and the ridiculous storylines ^_^
