Description
0.5 mechanical pencil on light-weight paper.Just in a Minerva-type mood.
I actually drew this MONTHS ago, but what with the scanner out of commission and my own commissions going on, I didn't have much of a chance to post it.
Anyway, more of Minerva! Only this time, she made a friend. I dunno why, but I just thought it'd be cute to draw her with a dog. While out running errands one day, a huge white dog comes over to say "hello there", and then follows her home. Random, I know.
This particular dog is a Dogo Argentino, a breed specifically made for hunting wild boars. I was watching The Science of Dogs on the NatGeo a while ago, and these dogs were described as man-made machines, and it reminded me of Min. In a way, she is the same: Artificially created to obey anything asked of her with no regards to her own safety, existing only to do a handler's bidding. They seem to fit together.
Now, yes the story takes place a good hundred years in our future, and we depict that any and all fauna that live with us will be fake, just like in Blade Runner. However, and this is just a thought, what if some pets had gone into the wild and prospered there, then one day just randomly decided to follow someone home? Just a thought.
Now then, credit where credit is due.
Honestly, I can't draw dogs for SHIT, especially the paws. After doing some research for the dogo doggie, I needed some references for the paws. Google isn't as helpful as you'd think. =w= So, I went to one of the greatest artists we have on DA: Her art is amazing, and I always envied how she drew animals. Not that it matters much now, of course, but I still like to give credit to those who inspire me, no matter HOW much they dislike me now. In closing, I love her animal paws, and I thank her for her referencial help.
Please do not copy or trace without crediting. Thank you.

Amongst your gallery, this is one that seems to attract me the most. You seem to have done well with the design of the dog, despite your inexperience with drawing them. And, while I have not followed the story that the female character, Minerva, is apart of, it certainly sounds like something I'm interested in.
I know this is going towards something that you would consider old now, but admiration for anything of quality, regardless of its age, never hurts.

Thank you for liking her.
I really wish I could tell you more about the story, but its progress is agonizingly slow. TTuTT

Again, you are most welcome. *bows*
I can tell. I've actually seen your work for a while now, but I have just "re-discovered" you, so to speak, since I joined DA almost a year ago.
And need I say, your art style, even as sketches/linearts, speaks to me. Most of anything I've ever done was such work. But you and Dweeb-Chan, your art... You both give a livliness to them tham makes them stand out. I have recently toiled over improving my own style to create a similar effect.
With that in mind, let it bee known that the two of you, you firstmost, have been one of the few, but effective, insspirations to my creativity. And I thank you for that.

Oh my, thank you.
Lol, you flatter me horribly, but thank you.
I still feel like my style can improve a bit, but I'm happy with the majority of my work so far. I've seen your work, and I must say it looks very impressive! I like your style.
As for the story, I doubt much of it will ever be seen by anyone else other than me and the person I'm creating it with.

I do not flatter. I speak what I know is true. I do not waste my breath with lies and such. And it is good to know you are not as critical of yoru won work as most others. "The artists him/her-self are their own worst critic," as they say...
Thank you! Actually, I was wondering: Did you see the "Ahriman" piece? I think he's the type of character you would like. XD
I see. My major story (STH : PS) still has a LOOOOONG way to go. XD

Actually I did!
The detail is amazing. I still can't draw that kind of shit. You should be proud of it. >:3
And boy do I hear ya in that department.

XD Ahriman is one of my prize pieces. Did you see his bio? I should have it in a link in the comments section. I love the quotes I made up for him! XD
I'm not crazy, just... comically diabolical!
